Despite Fable 3 for PC releasing this year, I don't think you can really count that as being a 2011 game.
Let's also keep in mind that Fable 3 was fucking dogshit and has no place being mentioned as a reason for why a particular year would be one of the best in gaming.
and nba 2k12 (best sports video game of all time) , dragon age 2 (say what you want, we were all dying for it) , fable 3...
of course, you got the new starcraft game, guild wars 2, and diablo 3 next year, so theres 3 games right there that will be badass. 2011-12 will be a stretch we talk about in articles like these 10 years from now.
Just because a game was super hyped doesn't make it good. Both DAII and Fable 3 fell well short of most people's expectations. Those games can't even be considered as part of a "greatest year ever" IMO.
