Paul Novak was born in Denver, CO and quickly became a natural athlete. After his parents divorce at the age of 9 he moved to Seattle with his mother. Paul was discouraged from playing sports and was mentored to focus more on his musical abilities. Upon entering High School Paul rekindled his love of sports by playing baseball, football and basketball. After his Senior year he was offered a 75% scholarship to the University of Washington to play football. He was told he would be allowed to play baseball as well but the scholarship was strictly for football. Upon completion of college, Paul asked the NFL and MLB to do a draft evaluation of where he might be selected to better determine his career path. After 2 months of waiting the results came back and stated that he would be a late 2nd, early 3rd round prospect in the NFL and that he might not even be drafted by any MLB team.

Paul decided to enter his name into both drafts. In the NFL draft, Paul was selected in the 3rd round by the New England Patriots. Later that year he was selected in the 27th round by the Reds organization. Paul had always loved baseball more than football and the fact the Patriots selected Paul, who has never had much respect for Coach B made the decision clear. Paul would quit football and focus on his MLB dreams.

      The rest...... is history.
