Madden on the PS4 will continue to have the same gameplay issues its had since PS2, it was never an issue with console power.

The game needs to be rebuilt and if there was every an opportunity to do so it's with a new console.

I recall hearing rumours from about 6 months back that EA and Ubisoft already have early builds of the new hardware to begin developing on to avoid what happened this last console cycle....being lack of games (ps3) or shitty quality games (360) in the launch year.

Many were expecting Microsoft to come out on stage at E3 with some information about the new Xbox, but Sony's reveal would be more surprising, as a new console at this stage in the PlayStation 3's life cycle would fly in the face of the company's stated "ten-year plan".

That writer is retahded. Playstation 2 came out in 2000. Playstation 3 came out in 2006. Playstation 4 is likely to come out in late 2013. The ten year cycle only means that Sony will actively try to release games on the console for 10 years after it's released.

I'll probably wait a year or two before I get a PS4 (or 720) just like I did with the PS3. I think this generation has a ton of life left in it.

Exactly this. I only got my XBox for Christmas in 2008. I'm definitely not gonna be rushing to the store the first day it comes out to get one.

I also think one of the big things we're going to see this generation is the push towards digital distribution. With how massively successful Steam has been and with the ever-growing hard drives, it just makes sense.

Not surprising at all. This is the timetable I've been expecting ever since Nintendo announced the Wii U. The need for a new console or not became irrelevant. They weren't going to sit around forever and not get in on that new console sales action. Microsoft definitely needs a new format other than DVDs, b/c shipping games on 2-3 discs is becoming a joke. And whether the PS3 is outdated or not, they weren't going to stand by and let Microsoft release before them again. All in all, this is exactly what I've expected, and I would be more than shocked if some sort of reveal didn't happen for both companies at E3.

The other gimmick, though I dont know if id really call it a gimmick, I can see happening is the push for the gaming systems to become your television/cable provider. We already know Microsoft is working on this.

That is something I could live with. It's useful to me and other people, unlike the Kinect, which is only useful to a core group of gamers. I don't want to play Call of Duty or Madden using a Kinect, hell no.

It's been better compared to the rest of this generation's Madden games, but no where near the previous one. They started out slow, and have made quite an improvement since, but it's still behind where it really should be. They dropped the ball hard.
