It takes like nothing to run it in the background, so if it is hurting your PC with it running, you must have a shit box of a PC. Never had much problems with the friends thing being down, and if it is, we always had Vent or Teamspeak to back us up.All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.
"rammer" and "cummings"
The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.Comment

This isn't 1999 anymore. Having steam running in the background taking all 8 or 10MB of ram shouldn't break your system. Its also not as buggy as it used to be. We've been away from those times for a good 6 or so years.
Hell the whole UT3 thing not working is probably one of the first problems I've had since CoD4 was released and even then its because there were so many people downloading it there just wasn't enough bandwidth for everyone. The community size for UT3 was around 1000 people. They weren't expecting close to 50,000 people trying to go out and download it.

I think my Steam profile is jtaylor31 if anyone wants to add me.
As Leaf will attest to, I mostly play Football Manager, but if you ever want someone else for CS:S, TF2, L4D, R6V or some others I own, send me a message and I'll be downComment
