    [ALL] Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

    Set to release February 7th.

I played the demo yesterday and I was pretty impressed. I loved the combat and the loot and the characters seemed interesting. The dialogue and trees were a little much but didn't seem as bad as a game like Mass Effect or Dragon Age (both coincidentally Bioware games).

    Anyone else with impressions?

Saw my friend play the demo. Looked like Fable graphics with the gameplay of Baldur's Gate. I'll get FF XIII-2 on the 31st instead.

That's a great analysis. I actually commented to my cousin that I thought the graphics were similar to Fable's.

        Hello, Dungeon Hunter?

Ugh. How many times do we need to go over this? I enjoy the hack and slash, dungeon crawler games quite a bit. It's the shitty turn based battles and the over talking that is found in most JRPG's that I despise.

oh you're referencing that Dark Alliance game that used it in the title. shoulda figured.

Baldurs Gate 1/2 is a PC franchise that is that "shitty turn based stuff that isnt the same but is as real time action games" - FYI.

            This shit was garbage.

I did it for the free ME3 armor and gun... and I regret pimping it.

Well, I was referring to the Baldurs Gate games on the PS2. You know damn well I don't play games on PC. Never have and probably never will.

I'm with Jay. I went from being interested, and probably getting it via gamefly, to not giving a fuck about it.

You'd be better served getting Darksiders.

A decent Zelda clone for $20 - $30 depending on where you buy, has Mark Hamill in it (...is The Joker in the Rocksteady Batman games and also Luke FUCKING Skywalker), has a sequel coming out.

If not that, drop $20 on ME2 and get ready for ME3 in March.

Just an FYI to anyone who makes the same mistake I did. You have to let the demo's timer run out to get the Reckoning Weapon, in addition to the armor you get when you launch the demo.

I actually never finished the demo because I accidentally exited out to the main menu. I guess I need to boot it up again. Or am I already screwed?

I think the game is quite good but to each his own. I won't get it at $60 but I will get it.

Actually, I've pretty much decided I'm not buying any games day one anymore. Maybe Twisted Metal because of free Black and if some people here want to play online. But otherwise it's kind of pointless.

I just re-launched it and it actually saved my progress and allowed me to skip the first tutorial/intro section. You're not screwed, though.

Well, it's a good thing it fucking froze on me right after getting to the free roam part.

I'll turn it on a little later to see if it will let me finish out the timer.

No, he's not, he's king of the nerds (although I don't know why Jay thought people wouldn't know who Mark Hamill was anyway). And his character in Darksiders is fucking obnoxious.
