[360] question about kinect

is $99 (no tax no shipping) a good price? it includes Gunstringer and Fruit Ninja Kinect

does this thing mount on top of your tv or just sit there like the wii sensor? i know its bigger, but how much space does it need to sit on? if it cant go on top of the TV will it work on the floor?

i have an old school CRT tv that has a 2inch space on top...check the pic and tell me if you think the kinect can sit up there

I'd say 99 w/ two games is a good deal. It can be mounted on the TV...I think they sell a mount for that. Me, I just have it set up in front of my TV.

That's the same one I got for xmas. It's a good deal with the three games you get (Kinect Adentures, Gun Stringer and Fruit Ninja) especially since you have kids. I only have about 2-3 inches on the top of my DLP but it works fine. It might not work for you though because the top of your tv has a curve. I don't think you can put it on the floor. It has to be basically level with the bottom of the tv screen or on top of the tv.

Kinect Adevntures is decent but the movements are definitely not one-to-one. Kind of disappointing in that respect. You will work up a sweat playing that shit. I haven't tried FN or GS yet. If you do get it make sure to download the free DLC for GS called the Wavy Tubeman Chronicles. Yes, I said FREE. Shocking considering we're talking about M$ and supposedly it's even better that the actual main game content.

dude if u get kinect the only game worth playing right now is dance central. all the other games are kinda trash inlcuding the new kinect sports. but really man if u have people over or just like to get funky like marky mark, dance central is a lot of fun.

Yeah. I bought DC1 and DC2 but haven't tried them yet. I've also heard they are really the only games worth a damn.

1. Yes its enough room. If in doubt use double sided tape.

2. Yes IMO its worth it. Voice control alone does it for me. Navigating through menus for video watching without lifting a finger is fantastic.

3. Just remember you need at least 8 feet seemingly 10 feet in front of you and the sensor for the games to work right. I currently have about 8 and Im literally in the border. Fruit ninja works great alone with gun stringer. But any game with feet involved I cant play.

Definitely don't get a Kinect just for some tacked on voice commands in ONE game.
