That would be fucking boss!
I thought I hear or read that a fourth game was included with the North American version as well. I can't remember the source though.

EDIT: This is about as close as I can come to backing up my post at the moment.

This is from the comments from the PS Blog's announcement of R&C: Full Frontal Assault.

The good people of Insomniac Games are preparing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Ratchet & Clank, which is coming up later this year. An HD remaster of our classic PS2 Ratchet & Clank games is something our fans have requested for a long time, and we’re looking forward to granting their wishes this summer [...]

Here's the entire page listing. Nothing about free release day shipping. I've never even heard of that on Amazon.

My bad, I have Amazon Prime which gives me at the option for free.

Now if only Insomniac would release trophy patches for Resistance 1, R&C ToD and QfB, I would drive to their studio and kiss them on the mouth.

So, from reading the comments on the PS Blog that Pad linked to, I take it "James Stevenson" is Ted Price? At least one person referred to him as Ted. Either way, whomever it is they are personable as shit. I love how they get right into the conversation with us peons and answer every question they can as best as they can. Good shit.

I know he mentioned that FFA will be similar to QFB in length but will have much more replayability. I'm guessing from his comments that Deadlocked will be the extra we get in the U.S.

And to think, all this for $30?

              Plus trophies?!?

I know. I have a major hard on right now. I can't believe I waited so long to play the R&C games.

Now that I think about it, I think Newegg had a $10 off deal for J&D for pre-order way back when. Kicking myself for not taking advantage.

Link: Ratchet & Clank Collection Hits August 28th With Sly Cooper Demo

As the celebration of Ratchet & Clank’s 10th Anniversary has unfolded this year, we’ve received your anxious e-mails, tweets and Facebook messages asking us when you can get your hands on the Ratchet & Clank Collection in North America. Today, we can tell you the remaster of three original PS2 Ratchet & Clank games will be available at retailers and via PlayStation Network on August 28th for $29.99!

The Collection features 1080p HD remasters of three PS2 Ratchet & Clank classics: Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. In addition, these three games have Trophy and 3D support (in 720p), and the fine folks over at Idol Minds have restored online play to Up Your Arsenal. At last, those who missed out on competitive R&C gameplay during the PS2 Network Adapter era can finally check it out!

We realize that the Ratchet & Clank Collection is arriving in North America a bit later than it did in Europe and Japan. To reward you for your patience, we’re giving you exclusive first access to the Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time demo when you purchase the Collection. If you love Ratchet, you probably love Sly, and the Ratchet & Clank Collection will let you test drive Sly’s new time-traveling adventure starting on August 28th. As an added bonus, you’ll receive a special Ratchet & Clank 10th anniversary avatar!

We can’t wait to for you to get your hands on these three remastered Ratchet & Clank games, the Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time demo and the 10th anniversary avatar on August 28th. In the meantime, keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages for the latest on the Collection, as well as the newly announced Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault!

All that hype about something extra in the works for the North American release, and it's a Sly Cooper demo? Boo.

Yeah, I know. But $30 for three games is nuts. Here I was thinking I was getting a great deal with the Amazon pre-order for $30. LOL.

Hopefully I can blow through Sleeping Dogs and start this as soon as I get this. Sorry Handle, J&D will have to wait even longer.

Since $30 is not a special pre order price, I think I will wait to get it. If I get it now, it will just shit on the shelf while I play Madden Vita and NHL. If anything, there will be a sale price of $25 when I'm ready (if ever) to play it. I still have to play Shadow of the Colossus in the collection edition.
