    [PC] Blacklight Retribution

    Has anyone given this a try yet? Open beta just started this past Monday and IMO it's the best shooter out right now, if you're into tactical and skill based shooters. It's fast paced, but also teamwork oriented. I guess it's sort of Halo 1 meets CS, with some minor influence from FEAR in terms of mechanics and art. But, it's still rather unique and hard to compare to anything else.

      free to play makes a big diffeence. at first i thought...yeah, another shooter...looks cool, but its just another shooter. then i see they are developing a free to play shooter

      when a team goes out of there way to make something and then give it away for free you have to give it a look. i am downloading now

                          Played a bit of this ... Was pretty fun and easy to pick up and play.. Not sure how I like the whole Zen thing though.. Paying to get cool weapons is lame..

                              & yeah I threw a fit about the Zen thing myself. But, after playing it for about a week now it's not a bad setup. The GP rates on new guns are fairly low, so you can have a new weapon by the time you hit level 10. If not sooner.

                              Meanwhile, with each level you progress you'll gain reward packs that include a variety of equipment that you have access to for 3 days. So that actually keeps you with some good stuff while you build up your GP for perms.

                              If you really get into it, there's a way to get 1,400 zen for free and there's a lot you can get with that. There's an ad about it on their forum.
