I'm not sure. I forgot to check. But I'm pretty sure it comes out to the same price as teh actual game, which I guess is $40 now? Don't quote me on that.

I'm not sure if they are going to do this with the other games but they are giving you the first part of Fable 2 for free. Hell, I'm even downloading it to check it out and I don't like RPG's.
I think that's only a Fable thing. Mainly because of the game's design is broken into parts like that to begin with.

It wouldn't be a strategy that they could apply to any game, that's for sure.

It is cool tho. I can't wait until brand new games become digitially accessible, I'm tired of dealing with retailers.

I hope that is far away. I don't think it will be but I definitely prefer buying retail copies. Not to mention you can always find a deal on games, even new ones. With downloaded versions you're stuck paying full price and it's not like you can trade it in or sell it once you get bored.

While the loss of a trade factor is one negative, the costs of games can reduce since there's many factors removed in the distrubution process. Packaging, transportation and retailers all become obsolete.

Not to mention the irritation behind dealing with dipshit store clerks, delayed shipments, etc.

I'm sure trials and such will come along with digital downloads, allowing players to try out games for a certain time duration before buying. Things like this will negate the fears you have.

Or so I'd assume that'll be how it goes....

i would love to buy the games and DL them to my hd....only issue then becomes space and no trade value. games are the one media that i actually own. i dont own CD's or DVD's, but with games idk if the DL option is the best idea.

This idea of DL portions of games....i am fine with them doing that, but i wouldnt use feature. I would rather play the demo for free assuming they dont kill demos in favor of this trend

This discussion about digital downloads is for another topic I guess. One argument is that mega retailers like Best Buy and Gamestop will never allow this to happen, Hell, look at the pressure they put on companies now to keep the digital version the same price as the hard copies. And sure the digital version can be discounted (like on Steam) but that's usually after a game has been available for several months. That's not the same as a "sale" that you can get from many retailers, including online ones like Amazon, day and date with the game release.

Maynard makes another great point. These games take up a TON of HDD space. When companies like M$ fuck you and force you to buy their completely overpriced proprietary HDD's then it's like getting fucked twice.

Fairytale Fights, Bayonetta and that Dino Hunting game have demos available. Shipwreck from CAG said the Dino hunting game isn't half bad and it's a budget title.

Today only, Castle Crashers for only 560pts! (Which I think is $7? Fucking carnival money.)

Great game for a great price.

I'd posty a link but every time I click on shit on xnox.xom that I have already purchased it won't show the price. Stupid.

The Maw, from the same guys that brought you 'Splosion Man, is only 400pts ($5) this week. I only played the demo way back when so I don't remember much about it but I've heard nothing but good things.
