BF3 hasn't left my disc tray in a month other than to play a little bit of Dirt 3. I'd say BF3 holds up its formula a bit better since it's actually good and fun, ya know.

Agreed......so much more realistic. I did not like MW3 at all, and especially how they ignored a lot of the smaller things I liked on the first BLOPS, such as the emblem creation.

Highlights include the possibility of different endings based on your actions and skill during the story and small missions where you control a SEAL team like an RTS or you can play as one of the members to capture objectives. From the article, the latter sounds a bit like the N7 missions from Mass Effect 3 where they took a multiplayer map and repurposed it for a small part of the single player experience.

CoD 4 was one of my favorite games of all time and it has been mostly downhill from there. I really want to believe this franchise is going to get it back on track but if they don't, it might be enough to push me toward future versions of BF3. I really enjoyed playing BF3 on our VSN game night a few weeks ago even though I sucked...reason being, if you shot somebody they took damage unlike MW3 where you unload a clip into somebody and somehow they still kill you.

I quite enjoyed black ops, so I'll probably pick this up. Doubt it could be better than BF3, but would be near impossible to be worse than MW3.

Blops wasn't that bad, it was better than Mw2 and 3, but couldn't touch cod4, so I am semi-hopeful for blops2...

I've been pretty disappointed with every COD since WaW and the direction they've gone. Unless I see some change (highly unlikely), I think I'll be sitting this one out. I just find the billions of kill streaks fucking irritating. It was great back in the day when you had 3 simple ones that were on 3 specific numbers and they didn't completely take over a game.
