Was able to get a bit of gametime in, up to level 5 Monk and just killed the Skeleton King. Combat is fun, but I really don't think I'm a fan of the skill system. I liked being able to tailor my character to my preferences and having choices on what to level. I guess there might be some of that once I unlock all the skills, but not the same.

I understand why they went with an always on model, to prevent the rampant hacking that happened in D2. But there has to be a better way. I did a bit of D2 MP, but I am mostly a SP guy. Having to have the only connection, even if my internet is great, really seems to punish me for other's transgressions

It's also very loot driven, if you're into that sort of thing. Think Borderlands. Or even DS in a way, just not as hard.

borderlands? how does this game compare to borderlands? D3 is a top down scrolling rpg set in a more medieval times period. its basically hack and slash with loot pick up.

It compares to borderlands in terms of the amount of drops. It's a loot driven game... Like borderlands. He wasn't referring to the style of game.

Played a bit with Knubb and Jeremy. Good round guys, looks like Bnet is down again though. Can't connect back in...

Up to 11 now, midway to 12. So far, so good on the game though...

The things I noticed so far:

+ I really like that you don't have to worry about ruining your character at level 1 anymore like in D1 and D2.

+ The fact that you don't need tomes of identify and town portal is a fucking godsend.

+ The crafting system is fucking awesome, I like it.

- There doesn't seem to be as much customization between characters, but this is based on lower levels.

+ Voice acting is good and relatively unobtrusive. Its nice to hear lore without having to stop the game and read.

+ The friend interface is pretty easy to work with and invite friends.

+ Individual loot and instant gold looting for the mother fucking win!

I was able to keep going for about 15 minutes after you guys got booted, but yes they were taken down again
