I'm somewhere in the middle of Act 3, not too sure how far...
I just defeated the demon of gluttony in the castle/fort's keep.
...and finally got a rare two-handed weapon for my barb. I had been running with sword and shield up until now.
I (still) love the feeling when you see a rare/set/unique item drop (though I have yet to get the latter two).
I can't wait to get my first unique or set item to drop.Comment

Didn't even think about sets.. I'm trying to figure out why there will ever really be a need for a real money auction house... I guess if there are going to be 100 dps weapons and badass armor without a level cap at some point it would work but otherwise it seems pointless..Comment

So will I get less cool loot on my first playthrough since I want to play solo and not co-op? I just don't want to rush through and enjoy the story.I give rep not thanks

You'll still get plenty of loot. I did the normal playthrough mostly solo. Only got help when I absolutely needed it(Diablo). Otherwise I was alone and still got plenty of the loots. Actually my stash is full(with 84 slots) with stuff that is getting sold on the Auction House. All from my solo playthrough.

I heard on the Bombcast that 70% of the loot is not available on the normal difficulty. The way to get real epic and rare loot is to play on the harder difficulties.Comment

That's how D2 was. You could get decent items on the lower levels, but anything worth having late game would only drop on hell difficulty.Comment

Oh Baal runs how I remember spending hours doing those and back in the day if you did random runs you had to be quick on the drops.
