During the

Madden NFL 13 webcast

, EA Sports listed the player and coaching legends. Many of them will be available to use right away, others will be available via pre-order and Madden Ultimate Team (Joe Montana was confirmed as one of them from MUT).

The Canton team, which includes 27 all-time greats will be available in Play Now. You can also play as 1 of 33 legends in Connected Careers, as you try to compare your career against Hall of Famers.

Also mentioned, the Super Bowl will feature a new pre-game coin toss and Vince Lombardi Trophy presentation with legends bringing the trophy out to the players. Legend quarterbacks will have their own throwing motion and legend coaches will have their own playbooks.

If your player retires and meets the qualifications to become a Hall of Famer, you don't have to wait 5 years, it happens right after retirement

(not realistic, they wanted to make it "Fun"). Speaking of retirement, players can come back into the NFL after they have retired. Will we see Brett Favre make a return?

Not entirely sure but like amarant alluded to, some players will unretire during your franchise and I guess you can bid on them from there.

Don't know why they didn't include Dan Marino. If I was going to use one of the legends it would probably be Barry Sanders.

The comeback thing could be interesting, provided that they are still able to actually play the game realistically. Considering the track record for Madden, that probably won't be the case.

Ahh now decisions, decisions. Where to buy Madden 13 from? I'm thinking Best Buy because I love those dynasty 49'ers or Origin because I love me some Dick Vermeil and Marshall Faulk would be nice to pair with Kurt Warner.

The omission of Favre is so blatantly obvious that I almost wonder if he didn't give his permission to use his likeness in the game due to the punchline jokes.

Either that or he will be a day 1 DLC addition to the game

As much as a joke as that would be hes my favorite qb and you better believe I woul have overpayed for him in my franchise. Besides that if im playing I always like making my own player because i feel like im disrespecing some of my favorite players if i dont play exactly how they played. I know wierd

EDIT: Unrelated but in those pictures it says RG3 is a 77, Grossman 71, and Cousins a 69.

I'm sure they'll come out with a DLC pack that has an all character thing... or I'd hope they would.

Yea I don't doubt that those are only pre-order exclusives for the first few months after the game comes out. Usually with incentives like that they eventually release them to everyone (granted you may have to pay like $0.99 per Legend or something to that nature) so you'll be able to get them all in time.
