The domain finalfantasyviipc.com was registered about a week ago, and this was allegedly uploaded before taken down.

 

According to the screencap, it's listed for €9.99 and comes complete with achievements and cloud saves (among other things).

Played through most of it about a month ago, I'm on the third disk right now. I want to get Knights Of The Round and beat all of the Weapons, but I don't have the time or patience to do that haha. I forgot how much it sucked trying to breed a gold chocobo

It takes forever to level up Knights of the Round to get max damage too, but it was damn worth it breezing through all the battles afterwards.

True, but no one has put it on the digital distribution marketplace. Not to mention that if the average person got a physical copy of it, they'd probably have a time trying to get it to run on a modern PC.

I've heard that Valve had copies of VII and VIII but never put them for sale on Steam for whatever reason (probably because there would be limited support for it). Square Enix hasn't authorized any other digital distributor to sell it either to my knowledge.

The website FinalFantasyVIIPC.com is live, and the game is "coming soon."

It looks like it'll be a straight re-release with achievements, cloud saves, and (hopefully) bugfixes for the problems that were included in the original launch on PC.

I've still got the original 4-disc PC version installed right now on my pc haha. Man, looks like i'm going for another play through.

I got super excited for a second because I thought it was a re-make, not a re-release

This released today in Europe for €10 (~$12). No word yet on when (if?) this will be available in North America. In the meantime, you could probably use a proxy to get a copy.

EDIT: It looks like it was just added to the North American Square Enix store for $10.
