VSN will be discussing the upcoming Madden '13 release with a member of the EA development team on Tuesday 7/10. If you have any questions that you would like to be considered for the podcast, this is the place to post them. Submitting a question does not guarantee that it will be used so don't get upset if your question doesn't make the cut. This is also not the discussion thread for the recent NCAA interview. If you want to talk about it, there are several threads already available.

Key areas of focus for the discussion are planned to be the new Infinity engine and the Connected Careers mode.

What have they done to improve the online franchise that we don't already know?

We know that players cant be edited, but verify that we can still at least change players numbers. I would hate to draft players that end up with the same numbers as current players.

1) When a team is on Autopilot, will the CPU perform any regular tasks? (Depth Chart, Sign, Release, etc)
2) How do players pick teams in "Super Star" Connected Careers? User choice only or can you be drafted?
3) How much does the salary cap adjust every year? Predetermined values or something variable?
4) If a player "quits" the franchise and the CPU takes over, will the immediately make any transactions before another user can take that team over?
5) Has any adjustment to sliders (user/cpu/penalty) been made or are they all the same and applicable to CC?
6) What options are there for Draft Pick time duration per pick?
7) Can you trade your pick while on the clock?
8) Does salary cap space carry over to future years as per new CBA?
9) When 2 users play a Superstar CC game (one offence vs one defence), do they control the other side of the ball at all when neither player is on the field?
10) How accurate are in game contracts to real life?

I threw in the towel on Madden with the Ray Lewis cover. Too many fluff features and no attention to franchise mode drove me away.

Ask him how he would pitch the game nearly a decade later to a former loyal customer who lost interest because of hit sticks, passing cones, and setting hot dog prices.

2. Can the commissioner suspend players for DUIs, drug possession, shooting up a nightclub, getting rowdy like Roethlisberger in a bathroom stall?

this year they have the Rams 1960s all whites but not the 1960s blue jersey.

Another question if you take a 4-3 and are a 3-4 coach how do the positions change. for example the cc thread has one about if you change the vikes to a 3-4 what does jared allen become a de or a 3-4 old blitzing lb. or if i choose the colts does dwight freeny become a de again or does he stay lb

This honestly is the same question for me. Franchise mode drove everything for me and when we had to start doing things like set prices of hot dogs I pretty much gave up because the gameplay just wasn't there.
