Thread #2 for the Best of This Generation thread series. In this debate, I want to know what was the most fun game for you on this gen of consoles. I don't care about story, or anything like that, just pure, awesome fun. Post your favorite "fun" game and tell us why it's the best.

I'm not sure what my #1 is but three off the top of my head are Dead Nation, Split/Second and NFS: Hot Pursuit.

Played multiplayer with my friends for years on this. So much fun making a bunch of maps and game modes to play.

Shadow Complex would be up there, as well as Dungeon Hunter Alliance (cheesy game but fun as fuck with friends).

Straight up online multiplayer fun would be Battlefield 3 hands down.

Mine would have to be Saints Row The Third and Batman: Arkham City. Saints Row 3 was just absurd and ridiculous, but it was just so damn fun. You get jets, helicopters, jet bikes and space battles. The game sounds so stupid, but it was an absolute blast to play. Arkham City was a fantastic game. Overall I probably liked Arkham Asylum a little better, but City was just glorious with Batman nemesis after nemesis.

Takes no thought from me, the game I had the most fun with by a mile is Dark Souls. Some people will say its too hard to be fun but for me that's what MADE it fun. When I figured something out or finally beat a boss, it felt like I actually did something. Definitely gave me that old school feeling. No maps, no waypoint indicator, no quest log. Just figure it out mfer. I loved everything about that game.

Halo 3 followed by MW3.

I spent days of time playing multiplayer with my friends with both of these games. MW3 isn't the best game but damn I had, and still do, have a ton of fun with it.

1) Battlefield (BC2 and 3 respectively but the leveling system, squad make-up and gameplay remain the same)

2) Uncharted 2 (Best in the Trilogy IMO; the MP was the first time I EVER played someone outside of the country online, also
one of the first games to get me to go back and buy the original title of a series)

Easily the most fun I've had with a game this generation or maybe ANY generation. So much so that I bought it for both 360 and PS3 and I'm currently playing through the PS3 version with Jay and Pad as I type this!

im gonna have to pick Rainbow Six Vegas. there are few others i could pick, but for me it was more than just playing a shooter online with friends. i was a sports gamer who rarely ever played anything outside the sports genre. Chodite sold me on buying this game and i ran through the SP never touching MP. but then i decided i would take a stab at online shooter action

i wasnt very good, but that changed pretty fast. we had such a blast with full rooms of MM guys waiting for someone to drop so they could get a spot. nobody wanted to leave cause you knew you would lose your place in the room. every night we were posting thread about playing....we would do pistols only, C4 only, sniper only....that fucking cutthroat aka quietstorm would own my ass in pistols only...i could blast everyone else on killhouse and that mfer would always own me...prick!

then came the countdown glitch, the rubber band glitch or rank whoring on dantes casino with the thunt....omg, we would spend hours just wasting away over and over playing thunt to rank up....chefriley and me were in a race to see who could get to elite.....i know jms, kingoffootball, crimsonghost and many others who are still around used to play that shit all the time.....we were all rank whores.

then one day when i was the rank just before elite i came across a glitch that allowed you to use the gamertag of some one else who was elite to automatically get you up to elite....i did it first and then gave it to riley to do....so while i did beat him to elite, we both cheated to get there.

after 4 months of the entire MM world beating the shit of this game, ubisoft finally announced new maps would be coming about 2 months later....by then the excitement and joy had worn off and people went off to whatever other game they were playing......many games followed that didnt live up to vegas 1....some came real close.....but nothing has equaled the level of fun that Rainbow Six Vegas gave to me and had the nightly following like this game did back on MM
