Just took out one of the overpowered area bosses for The Old Republic that took me about 20 times to do. Love that game but a couple bosses seem to be absolutely ridiculous, with no rhyme or reason for it.

After two seasons (one in AA and one in AAA) I was just resigned to another one year AAA contract with the Twins for $167k. Apparently I was invited to spring training but so far I've just been getting pinch hitting opportunities.

Beat Syndicate. Story was very lackluster. The idea has some promise, but the end product just wasn't what it could have been. The numerous boss fights were the only thing that kept me from quitting. It just got so boring in last handful of levels. Luckily the co-op saves this game from being a dumpster game.

Sleeping Dogs is up next.

Beat the story for Sleeping Dogs. Loved that game. I'll post my review that I posted in the Sleeping Dogs thread below in spoilers (no actual game spoilers mentioned though).

I think the next game up will be Bloodstone 007.

 

Finished up the story in Sleeping Dogs. Surprisingly decent story for this type of open-world game. I was also surprised at how well they brought you in to the emotions of the main character for a game like this. By the end of the game you can feel the anger and pain of Wei Shen, which makes the last couple of missions that much better. The hand-to-hand combat makes this game a blast. I found it a lot more fun to whoop Triad ass with Kung fu rather than to just shoot them from behind cover like most games of this type. I also loved the fact that you got to do missions on both sides of the law with the Triads and the Hong Kong PD.

If I had to describe this game, it would be a combination of GTA and LA Noire, throw in the hand-to-hand combat of the Batman Arkham games, and sprinkle in a tiny bit of the platforming from Uncharted.

Very good game. I've been saying all summer long that this game would be one of the more underrated games of the fall season, and it did not disappoint one bit. It's a very refreshing take on the games of this genre. If anyone enjoys the GTA games, or any of these type of sandbox games, I would definitely recommend giving it a try. I'm giving it a solid 8.75/10.

Well that blows. That reminds me of the first inFamous. I'm like four shards short of the 400 total, or whatever it is. I've scoured those islands for hours and can't find them.

I wish all games that had collectibles like that did what inFamous 2 does. Even if you can't get it until the end of the game getting that upgrade that shows you were all the collectibles are is amazing.

As for accomplishments, Brnt, Med, Swarley and I finished up all of the co-op maps in Syndicate on Xbox. It probably would've went a lot smoother if my shitty GoW controller wouldn't have just turned off randomly about 50 times. Piece of shit.
