Just because in the long run it's the better deal, it's still expensive.

Too many people look at video game consoles in the eyes of the casual gamer as if everyone is a hardcore gamer. The reason the Wii is so popular is because it's so cheap. Majority of people don't know the difference in HD gaming. They don't know that the Wii isn't HD. They don't know there's a giant graphical difference.

The same reason the PS2 killed the Xbox was because it was half the price when the Xbox came out.

Video games are still a niche in our society. Not everyone sits on their ass at video game websites arguing over frame rates and if Gears 2 or Killzone 2 is better.

They buy the system that they are recommended by the salesman that day, and the price of it. The price being the largest factor in the sale.
Exactly, this right here should dead most of the lame console war arguments.

Most people aren't hardcore gamers. I'm one of these people. I don't care about blu-ray, HD or whether the PS3 will be cheaper than the 360 after a few years due to Live. Almost every argument about EA or Consoles ignores that the majority of people think this way. Now pressure is being put on Sony to adapt, and it's a win-win for people who play video games. Cheaper PS3, whys everyone so mad?

Wireless that noone should be using , BluRay most consumers dont give a flying fudge about , and an online service 2-3 years behind the competition are lame excuses to pay NEOGEO like prices for a console that noone wants to develop for.

Those prices were insane then....and even more so now with the economy so terrible. Theres no value in 600 no matter how you slice it. Theres still no value in a ps3.

For 250 bux you can have a wii or 360 (including 20 gig HDD). Aint nothing remotely worth the extra 150 minimum for a PS3 for most consumers.

No doubt most consumers are dumbasses but with game consoles they usually get it right.

Knock the wii all you want but that shit entertains the hell out of people.

The reason the PS2 won was because it came out 1st, and was in homes 1st, and had more consoles sold. This allowed Sony to have a buncha exclusive games also, and games werent as rediculously high in cost as they are now. Also the price different b/w PS2 and xbox1 wasnt that huge. Xbox1 entered the market way too late.

Wii and PS3 came out at the same time. Your constant arguing about what came out first is tired. If that was the case Dreamcast should have pounced the ps2.

GTA/FF/God of War/MGS and a bunch of other exclusives is why ps2 won. Xbox had game of the year for like 3-4 straight years , better hardware but PS2 had an endless stream of games for everyone.

Wii/360 just have a hell of alot more fun to offer than PS3 for typically half as much and have for quite some time.
