Madden 13 Connected Careers : Help Changing Game Settings

Is there anyway to change the gameplay settings in Connected Careers? Everytime i change things like my speed threshold and what not at the main menu they just revert right back to default in connected careers and you can't change it mid game nor can you change it in the Connected Careers menu.
