You don't want to hold the power button down for to long.

I had the same problem when I first started playing last year. It takes time to understand that a hard low kick is a pretty quick press of the button.
I'm not in game so I can't remember exactly how you get to it but there is a practice arena and within that, you can set it up so you are on offense and there are no defensive players.
You can make it one on one, or 11 on none. It helps so you can practice passing and stuff without interference.
Also, try playing on the lowest difficulty. There is MUCH less defensive pressure, you will score goals and you will be able to play defense. If nothing else, it will build confidence.
I played on professional (still do ) and didn't score a goal for at least 20 games and I was playing Ultimate Team (my players were all good).
It just takes patience, and practice. Also, play on Slow.. regular speed is too fast
Went ahead and finally started my MM with Man City. Already rumors popping up in my game about Inter being keen on Yaya Toure...not gonna happen though. Anxious to see what international offers I get. I have my eyes set on the following four: USA, Scotland, Belgium and Germany. I doubt I will get the US or Germany as my first gig, but, I would like Scotland or Belgium as possible landing spots.

Wow bro...So this is where you've been hiding.

Lost my first game (friendly) against AC Milan 2-1. Also received a handful of transfer offers - all of which I declined. Except for one, Pablo Zabaleta to Everton for 7.5 M GBP...but, Zabaleta couldn't come to terms on a contract, so the deal fell through.

Finished my last two friendlies against Genoa (1-0 win) and Greuther Furth (4-0 win). I was mixing/matching my starting XI to see which groups I liked and to find areas of weakness, lack of depth, etc. Our goal scorers in our 3 friendlies were: Aguero (2), Silva (2), Tevez (1) and Milner (1).
ATM, it is pretty clear we have depth at forward. We have depth at our backline as well. Where I really want to add to our club is at the left/right midfield spots. I utilize an attacking mid and can cycle 3 guys at that spot - Silva, Nasri and Toure. Nasri and Toure can also play the other midfield spots, but, I have to make sure they are in good form because I may need them to play AM at times and even put Toure at CDM on occasion. So I am looking for some left/right midfielders that will play up and act more like wingers.
We have the community shield up next against Chelsea and coming out of the friendlies, I like the following XI guys as the starting group as of right now & based off of performances in the pre-season friendlies:
I was not impressed with Maicon. Clichy is still impressive, but, Kolarov and Zabaleta seemed to be better overall. Especially Kolarov. I was just so comfortable usering with him. Balotelli was actually pretty difficult to user with...I don't know why, I just didn't have a lot of success with him.
I love FIFA so much! So much more immersive than Madden!

I've stopped playing online only because tho my MM has been so interesting. My career track went like this.
Started out at Orebro SK in the first division of Sweden. No money but after two years there I won the League cup once and got the team in Europa league.
Then I got a job offer from Heerenveen. Sucked with them and I didn't even touch the transfer funds given to me. I knew it was going badly so I applied to take over Reading in the Champo. Got that took over in December and got promoted.
Then halfway into the next year in the Prem I got offered the job to takeover Manchester United. Well......uhhhh yea definitely took that and that's where I stand now. Got alot of cleaning house to do as the CPU wrecked the squad.
So MM is actually good this year? I usually get bored pretty quickly
I am in Div 5 for the record, sitting on 13 points with 3 games to go. A win gets me promoted to Div 4, two wins gets me another title (got it in every Div so far)

Meh. Not really. Its just OK. But I haven't done anything since I stopped playing FM last spring. Only noticeable change form me is the youth are progressing a big better. Nothing really new or groundbreaking tho.
