    does anybody use this as their recorder for their 360 and/or PS3???
    or even the regular: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Hauppaug...&skuId=9317768

    i have question for you; that cannot answered in the manual, reviews, etc......

    when recording;
    does your 360/PS2 video output setting need to be set at 480p, which is NOT HD output.
    in other words; when i use my Hava Monsoon recorder, the recording will be blurry if i change the Video Output setting to 720-1080i. i need to leave it at 480p.
    also; even if they advertise they it does, they dont tell you that you make that adjustment on your Output Source, meaning the 360/PS3.....
    i know its all about the HDCP too.......MFers

    basically; i have the Hava Monsoon recorder. its old but it works. problem is that i wont work on OS other than Windows XP. cant use it on Windows 7
    no updates since 2009?? its old.......
    so; i have to use an old laptop with shitty graphics card in it.

    anyway;
    some answer(s) would be appreciated??? i know PTR and TimmyG MFers have the Happauge so........

      No.

      The resolution of the input will be the output automatically, whether it be 480 or 1080.

      Feed it 480, you get 480. Feed it 1080i [my TV] and you get 720, the highest RS at this time. I understand that 1080 may be in the future but have not seen that as yet. Not that much difference though.

      I set the PS3 resolution as high as my TV, 1080i. And as you can see on the pic, the RS is 720.

      Runs great on Vista 64. BTW, when I render the 720 on Corel Video Studio4, you can render at 720 or 1080 and vid looks great. Another BTW, my Nvidia graphics card went out and have not replaced it yet. when I see the feed on my PC from the PVR, it's not the sctual RS that is being recorded due to the fact I am only seing VGA graphics at the present time as you can see in the pic. But when I transfer the file into Corel, the RS is at 720. Right now on my PC, it's like what you see is not what you are really getting.

      Still have my old HAVA.

      in other words; when i use my Hava Monsoon recorder, the recording will be blurry if i change the Video Output setting to 720-1080i. i need to leave it at 480p.

        do either you guys have a 360 hooked up to it??

        cause i think Microsoft does something with HDCP and wont let anything record over 480p.....

        anyway;
        i still want to rectify the Windows 7 verse XP issue.

            I bought one the other day. Had my 360 hooked up to it. It records at whatever you have your source resolution is.

              I don't...but it should work the same as PS3...and after my PVR years of satisfaction, I would heartily endorse the afternoon project. ;)

              I don't see that directly, but a simple workaround is feasible, just an extra step.

                    Xbox doesn't have HDCP so you can use HDMI.

                            You need to go to your system settings on your Xbox make make sure its 720p or 1080i. The PVR2 says it does 1080p so try that as well I guess. As for the audio it's HDMI out so it has audio and video in that.
