Starting a Dynasty today but with a twist. My team will be the Blazers and I'm going to play one game a week with them through the season. The rest will be simmed.

The fun part is that I'm making a few VSN'ers rookies and putting them into the game to follow their season/career. Planning on 10 or 12 guys and here is who is in so far:
    Bomberooski
    IamMedellin
    Rudi
    Fedex
    Matt
    Herm
    Warner

So I need 3ish VSN'ers who want to see themselves in the updates. Positions and teams are completely random.

Not sure if it's possible to play other games besides the team you control but if it is I will play 2 random VSN games a month.
    I give rep not thanks

Best sports game I've ever played.

Gameplay - Perhaps not perfect, but its perfect. There are probably little quirks I'll pick up on...but, they just don't effect the "fun" of the game nor effect the simulaton aspect of the game. Teams play like real basketball teams and you win or lose based on how you play, not through predetermined formulas.

Commentary is fantastic. As is presentation. I turn off commentary for non-major games (games I would think are "nationally televised"), so, it never gets old for me.

The draft is realistic...and the presentation is top notch. Always vital, because so many games get this wrong. Being able to create our own draft class pretty much makes this the best possible "franchise" mode...I control the players that enter my Association...the AI just focuses on applying the attributes for progression.

The Association Mode is as realistic as possible.

The ability to use 2KShare takes this series to a great level. I don't have to worry about roster updates and shit...I can get roster updates or upload certain players. Ease and customization of use is fantastic.

I've been playing this game for WEEKS, more than I've played any game in YEARS and it simply keeps me loving it with each game.

Only thing I'd like to see...more historic teams. I love just picking the game up and playing some Zo Mourning and Grandmama led Hornets and playing the 70-71 Hawks. Keeps playability very very high for me. I don't always want to play Association Mode.

Overall, best video game purchase in a LONG time.

        /\/\/\/\

I've had to make myself stop playing the game (My Career Mode) because I'll start playing it and look up at the clock and see 3 hours have passed. The commentary is the best out there; even when I hear repeated lines, it still hasn't gotten old yet. In year 2 of MC, I'm seeing new overlays (current year stats vs last years stats). I hope they just put a transactions area that actually shows the moves made during the off-season, including a list of retired players and FA (all in MC mode).

My last game was the best so far.....won in 2OT against Denver at Pepsi Center. At the end of regulation, down by 2 with 10.6 seconds left, I was fouled and sank both of them (tied game). There was a glitch that had the Denver coach come on the court and walk right in front of me before shooting the 2nd FT (he was playing mind games)...it was hilarious. Looking like we were going to a 3rd OT, Lawson was able to sink a mid range shot and put them up by 2 with about 8 seconds left, so I called a TO. Luckily, I had 1 more left, since I didn't even check. We took the ball midcourt and the pass was to me (Center) with my back to the basket. I was able to spin and dunk the ball in and get fouled.....sank the FT with less than 3 seconds and won the game by 1. Career high 44 points for CB4.

Just got a Tyreke Evans gold card from the purple booster! Fucking awesome.

Sold him immediately for 17k, upgraded to Stephen Curry for an additional 1k. Rocking the Steph-Dell Curry connection now along with James Worthy and Vlade Divac.

          edit 2:
After selling some players, some useless attribute bonuses, bought a couple more purple packs. Ended up getting a jason maxiell card worth 12k, sold some more of my rookies who went up in value to buy Brook Lopez for a cheap cheap 15k.

          My starting lineup is now-
          Steph Curry 83
          Dell Curry 75
          James Worth 83
          Vlade Divac 78
          Brook Lopez 81

Gonna play around with the Curry combo, both have A+ from outside shooting, plus Vlade has a nice long shot game. Brook and james both can pound it in. Defensively this team sucks, but for online play its more about offense and when on defense, not leaving a man open.

          edit3:
Just got a gold John Williams card, pf cavs 79 overall. Not sure what to do, as I rather play Brook since he's better and costs 50 vc less per game. Will experiment tomorrow. Might be better off selling Steph/Lopez for a combined 34k and just play a lil more until I can afford some 90+ ovr characters. Going to try and resist joining the dark side and getting LeBron and Howard.

Saw this before our game against the Spurs. I highly doubt Duncan talks/writes like this:

After getting the option to talk to the GM about trading for players, I included Courtney Lee, Harden, Budinger, and 2 other players I can't remember. We were able to get Chase Budinger for Tobias Harris and a 1st Rd pick. I wanted a 3pt specialist since Dunleavy seems to have retired; for right now I have 2 3pt guys in the starting 5 (incl. Ilysova). I should have one giving me scoring off the Bench, when Ellis comes back from injury.

            Some dunks by CB4:

EDIT: The other two guys were Affalo & Batum. Ellis came back to the Starting Lineup in the 2nd game after trade but Budinger stayed in as well. My Starting 5 includes PG Jennings, SG Ellis, SF Budinger, PF Ilaysova, C Cecil Bishop (MP). We beat PHX by 21; I had 9 rebounds at the end of the 1st Q and finished with 17.

The website for NBA 2K13 is up. For My Player it allows you to look at your videos, pictures, stats, standings, league leaders (can't figure out how to change which stat to sort....only lists PPG). Also lets you see your ratings, performance last game, etc. It would have been better if it allowed you to upgrade your player through the website.

                  New patch is out....

                  GAMEPLAY
Improved AI rebounding logic to balance out offensive rebound frequency.
Tuned AI transition defense; users will now have more fast break opportunities against the CPU. Additionally, CPU teammates are now more able to guard their opponents on the break.
Long range passes are now less accurate and will result in more fumbled and missed catches.
Passing successfully out of a double team has been tuned to be slightly more difficult.
Tuned the logic behind Charging calls so that they are properly called. Charges will now sometimes be called when the defender is in position and stationary, even if he is not in the “Take Charge” animation.
Tuned timing on block animations, and made the AI more vigilant about blocking layups and dunks.
Improved reach-in foul detection when defender continually swipes at the ball, results in more called fouls where appropriate.
AI now only calls for a full court press in appropriate situations (i.e. late in the game).
Addressed two dunk animations that were not counting for a score when they were converted.
Fixed an issue where Replay would show the incorrect play, rather than what actually happened on the court.
AI positioning when running plays has been tuned so that big men with limited shooting range will not move further away from the basket than what their range allows.
AI teammates will now remain in the Post Up position longer when a Quick Post play is called for them.
Tuned alley-oop and putback dunks such that only players who have a high tendency to perform either move are able to finish with one.
Removed the restrictions for the ‘Microwave’ Signature Skill such that it now works regardless of whether you are already on a hot or cold streak.
When a block is recorded for a player with the ‘Eraser’ Signature Skill, only the shooting attributes of the blocked player are lowered.
Fixed a rare issue where a traveling violation would be called on a pass fake.
Referee Review on last shot will no longer play if the shot has no effect on the outcome of the game.
A number of other smaller changes have been made to address issues and enhance the user experience.
                  Tuned three-point percentage.

                  GENERAL
NIKEiD shoes will now appear properly in-game after being equipped to a player.
Addressed an issue where the game score would disappear in Blacktop games when Signature Highlights were viewed in the pause menu.
Fixed an issue where Free Throw Feedback would no longer appear in games after playing an Online MyTEAM game.
Addressed an issue in Online MyTEAM games where the away team player would have the Signature Skills of the home team player if identical players were used in the game by both players.
Music will no longer be disabled and Game Settings will no longer revert back to Default when completing an online game in MyTEAM.
Changed the difficulty settings for all of the seeds in MyTEAM.
                  (360) Addressed a Kinect issue where a misleading overlay would appear when a timeout was called through a voice command when no timeouts were remaining.

                  MyCAREER
Added additional warning re: conversion of an online MyCAREER (one that earns VC) to an offline MyCAREER (one that earns Skill Points).
Fixed an issue where the remainder of the user’s schedule would appear empty after participating in the various All-Star Weekend events. This change also carries over to Association/Season modes.
‘Run Plays’ and ‘PlayVision’ should now function properly (when activated), regardless of your MyPLAYER’s position.
Fixed an issue where all games in October would be simulated when ‘Play Next Game’ is selected after the start of a new season.
Users playing MyCAREERs that accrue Skill Points will no longer find themselves with negative skill points after played games (where a number of unlikely conditions were all met).
Addressed a rare hang that would occur if the “Defend Your Home Court” billboard commercial would play between quarters of the Rising Stars Challenge or All-Star game.
Addressed a number of issues with the Social Media feature, including one where the news feed would stop updating completely.
When changing teams via free agency in the offseason, your MyPLAYER will now receive the proper role (starter, sixth man, etc.) that was promised during the contract negotiation.
You will no longer fail the Dynamic Goal “Give your team the lead before the game ends” when subbed out before the end of the game.
The Teammate Chemistry rating on the “Play Next Game” loading screen should now display the correct value (as seen in the Social Media menu).
The volume of the menu music and sound effects will no longer become extremely quiet after playing consecutive games in MyCAREER.

                  ASSOCIATION
3PT Tendency progression logic has been rewritten to correctly model the growth variances within each player type in the game. This change also carries over to MyCAREER mode.
Users will no longer lose their Scouting Reports after viewing the Recent Games tab of a player card.
Birth years can now be set to later than 1993 when editing Draft Classes after the first season of Association.
Addressed a rare hang that would occur when attempting to participate in the Dunk Contest with a created player assigned to a created team.
(Association: Online) Offense and Defense options should now save properly when using the Total Sim Control feature.
(Association: Online) Admins will now have access to appropriate Commissioner Tools during the offseason.
NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves (MyCAREER, Association, etc.).

Passing successfully out of a double team has been tuned to be slightly more difficult.
Damn. I love getting double teamed. It's a guaranteed assist into dunk with any kind of decent big man.

Tuned timing on block animations, and made the AI more vigilant about blocking layups and dunks.
Good. the AI is terrible at shot blocking. Bad, because when playing against someone who ludicriously increases the game to Hall of Fame difficulty, all most guys have to do is stick to one player and allow the AI to win for them.

Improved reach-in foul detection when defender continually swipes at the ball, results in more called fouls where appropriate.
Thank god, this gets so ridiculously cheesy at times online...

AI now only calls for a full court press in appropriate situations (i.e. late in the game).
Also: DAMN. I love it when the AI goes full court press in the first when you jump up 10 points, especially when im rocking that gatorade pack first quarter in myplayer with no fatigue. I'd run most teams off the court and run right past gassed defenders for easy dunks with my 6'3" pg...

Addressed two dunk animations that were not counting for a score when they were converted.
Good, i've seen this happen before when the ball rims out then falls back in.

AI positioning when running plays has been tuned so that big men with limited shooting range will not move further away from the basket than what their range allows.
In other words: We made Omer Asik not retarded anymore?

Tuned alley-oop and putback dunks such that only players who have a high tendency to perform either move are able to finish with one.
Alley oops are already really hard with the severe pass accuracy penalties this year. 2k is clearly sick of us getting 3-4 of these a game.

                    Tuned three-point percentage.
to make them harder, I hope. nothing worse than getting that Clippers player who just heaves up 3's with Chauncey all game, Or Twolves with Budinger, or Portland with Nic Batum, or the Heat with Ray Allen...

Created a MyPlayer point guard, 6'3", three point specialist. Dropped a 21 point 12 assist rookie showcase (Anthony Davis in the rookie game is CHEATING if you want to pass. He is a God amongst roll men, and it was stupidly easy to get those dimes.) Computer will give you way too much space in the first quarter until you get 9 or 12 points off 3s, then they start playing you tighter, but getting an open shot in the first is as simple as walking to a wing and calling for the ball.

Drafted 4th overall by the Sacramento Kings, which also felt like cheating. DMC is amazing, but giving them Thomas Robinson anyway even though I was drafted in his slot has made Myplayer pretty damned entertaining. set the screen with DMC, if i dont get a good look, whip around to the other side of the paint and set a second pick with t.rob. Tyreke Evans is a great guy to have on the team too ; i dont dime to the guy much, but he's so good with the ball in his hands, moves so well, and creates his own shot so well that I like having him as an outlet if the paint is just too clogged. He has a knack for hitting me with a pass for the open 3 too.

The biggest problem I have is with the bench. Chuck Hayes can finish a layup if he is stupidly wide open and thats it. My other bench pick setter was Travis fucking Outlaw. God, how I hate Travis Outlaw. I bitched 3 different times to the GM how much I didnt get along with the guy. About 30 games in, the GM came to me immediately after a game and asked me for 5 players I wanted on the team. One of them was Al-Farouq Aminu, because he plays good defense and is young enough to develop into a better player in later seasons. The GM traded Outlaw plus Thompson for Aminu.

I start at SG, which bothered me at first but with the 3 point range I have actually really come to like playing off the ball. I drain 4 or 5 open 3s every game. They sub me in at PG intermittently, moreso when I was still the 6th man, but for the most part I have to deal with the crappy kings point guards. Aaron Brooks is servicable, but I just beat my A button when they put me out there with Jimmer and Isiah Thomas (who LOVES to drive to the hoop, at 5'9".)

Gonna jump on now and with Travis Outlaw's blood still fresh on my hands, gonna see if I can't get the GM to trade Thomas...

Love playing with the 94-94 Magic. That is my squad. I only play with the regular Magic if my opponent picks a lower rated team. Other that that, people get a heavy dose of Penny and Shaq

W2BTD nailed this game early in its release - playing pro level is fun for the first time ever because you don't have to call plays on every offensive set, you can simply find the open man and have fun ... and the stats and result are usually pretty NBA real.

To me, All Star is perfect. Pro I got too good too quickly at. All Star I have to do a nice balance of play calling and straight up "freestyle"
