i want to get the system but my disappointment and the soon releases (2013) of never ms/sony system has me hesitant to pull the trigger. maybe with some credit or a craigslist barter i'll get one at a decent price....after christmas

i tried a few demo units and i didnt like the controller/pad all that much. it felt much too bulky for extended playing sessions.

ccod be pretty cool playing madden or something where ou can pick your plays on the pad and not have a co-op buddy see them

LOL, yeah. The Wii burned me hard enough. I searched high and low for that after a weekend of Wii Sports, and other than SMG1 never really enjoyed it all that much (I think I played more Super Metroid and Castlevania III on it than I did any actual Wii titles).

From what I heard on the Bombcast, this is an actual gamer's system (I guess outside of the horrible framerate on year old games?), but I still have no interest. The ONLY game that has me remotely intrigued is the Rayman one, but as much as I loved Origins, it's no system seller, obviously. The shitty touch screen stuff just isn't appealing to me.

too many wtf things with this machine. my son wants one but i dont think he will, after all i got him a ps3 last xmas. 300 bones for a base unit...yikes.

I read an article the other day (Kotaku I believe) talking about consoles being bricked. Most of the cause seems to be turning the console off during that massive update. That sounds like common sense and I believe there is a warning telling you not to do that before the update starts. But apparently the damn thing takes upwards of an hour so I can see people thinking that something is wrong and turning the console off. What kind of fucking update takes an hour? Also, it can apparently brick of you just lose your internet connection during the update as well. Wtf? Really?

The article also said that consoles shipped after Xmas will have the update pre-installed so if you are actually interested in one I would definitely wait until January or so to get one.

That's what I'm, doing, Gamestop called me and said my deluxe model was in but I told them I was all set for now, rent due Monday and just started a new job, more important things for the next month or so probably Feb I will pick on up because I do enjoy a lot of the arcade and classic stuff, and mostly being able to use that gamepad as a handheld too seems cool, I don't have any handhelds at all right now outside my gameboy emulator lol

Really though that server was getting so hard day 1 that it took me ~8 hours to download. I don't think it was overly massive (maybe a gig)?

I restart my console plenty of times and also ddropped the connection a few times too. My console survived tho.
