That's mostly accurate, but not completely.

If you choose timing hitting as your hitting interface, it will be set to zone online. Says it right in the user settings menu. "Online games use ZONE if set to TIMING".

I'm not entirely certain what that means in terms of analog hitting, but you definitely can't use timing online.

If you play on lower levels, its not that much different than timing because you can get away with not moving the PCI and still make contact. Moving the PCI will just improve the quality of the contact.

still waiting on '13 to come in but I've used analog since it was introduced for the PS3. On Vita, I use the buttons.

I only use analog for pitching, buttons for everything else.

i am going try that for hitting with buttons......i like the analog pitching but it seems like it has to be "perfect" for hitting.

Played online for the first time today. Absolutely 100% lag-free. Played like it does offline. Caught me by surprise. Gotta get used to zone hitting and controlling my own runners though (usually just leave that to the cpu).

I don't like that PCI batting graphic on the screen. I like my screen as gimmick free as possible, but you need the pci graphic if a guy pitches you low all the time and you have to move it.

You can turn off the graphic. For you, I'd leave it on right now until you get used to the sensitivity of it though.

so is this a typical playing mlb the show? is there anything i wouldnt have already seen in the past? is there anything new about the gameplay? pitching fielding hitting all the same?

You know this game really makes me wonder what they could do with a NFL license, the attention to detail in this game is amazing.
