Exactly. People always fucking say that and I like to remind them that CD-based games (Playstation - Playstation 2) dropped the prices tremendously. Now that we're on higher capacity discs were back up to that point but wah wah you're paying $60 for say, Skyrim, a 200-hour game or you're paying $69 for NBA fucking Hang Time.

Btw, I totally remember that ad and I totally got Monopoly for Genesis that year because it was finally under $20.

I remember when Atari 2600/Activision games were $30. And those games had very little replayability. I'd rather spend $50-$60 on a game that I can immerse myself in, than $30 on a game where after I fly my biplane through a few barns, I've basically finished the game.

An these days you dont even have to pay $60. Most games go on sale less that a month after release.

One thing I don't understand about the Super Nintendo ad...you can get something called "Arcade's Greatest Hits" for $39.99....or you can get "Ms. Pac Man" for $39.99! Who would buy Ms. Pac Man?

I loved the Beavis and Butthead game but in retrospect it was a pretty poor effort.

That's why PS1 really succeeded, the prices for games were exceptionally cheaper.

I actually still have my Sega GameGear, found it under my stairs the other day.
