Whats funny is I live right by that Costco and was actively looking for a PS4 for my brother for xmas and not once when going there did they have any in stock. Must have just been bad timing. Or you have remarkable timing.
I can see how some will say PS4 are outselling X1 because they are OOS everywhere but I'm sure Sony would like to have more in stock. I wonder how many parents/kids go into a store willing to buy either system and leave with a X1 because it was the only one available.
That was exactly what I did. I didn't really care which one I ended up with, impulse-buyer-me just wanted a next gen console. I don't have any interest in owning both.
It appears Sony is uber confident in selling without promotion overkill (see WiiU).

I would agree. Sony is letting word of mouth and the perception of limited availability (if you can't have it, you want it even more) do their marketing for them.
Whats up with the minimal PS4 advertising in comparison to the XBone?

Welcome to VSN buckeye!
It was like that last gen though too. I saw probably three times as many 360 commercials as I did PS3.
But it does seem worse now. I see XBone commercials constantly and I can't remember the last time I saw a PS4 commercial.

Sonys always been pretty lousy in the advertising area of their products. Luckily they've turned a profit off of word of mouth and all the bad rep that Microsoft received during their whole always online DRM stuff.
At least a dozen Xbox Ones at my Wal-Mart today, but I really have no spot for that monster under my TV unless I get rid of my Xbox 360 or PS3 ... and I really don't wanna do that. My ps3 is still my primary Blu-Ray and DVD player (like my PS3 remote and the ps3 uses less power than the ps4 for this purpose) ... and I have no intention of ditching my 360. I still play Tiger Woods, some arcade games and can't wait for GTA5 DLC. All that and I don't wanna spend $499 for a new system just to play one game (Forza 5).
