how does the controls work with remote play with 2 less trigger buttons on the Vita?

That was my first thought during the demo last night. My guess is that these games will have an alternate control scheme available and they will somehow use touch functions either on screen or on the back for those missing buttons.

The same way that cross-buy games work now. Sly Cooper alternates trigger buttons to the back touch pad and the front touch screen.
Q: You showed us how you could use the Vita as a second screen in your living room. Is that local only, or is there any ambition with Gaikai to use that as a server and get further away in the living room?
A: Technically speaking, it works from anywhere, as far as you have a wi-fi connection from your Vita to the PlayStation 4. It needs to be wi-fi. However, for some games, when you play or connect from far away, it accumulates latency. Some games may not be playable, like fighting games or shooting games. But some other slower paced games will be playable. As long as you have home routers anywhere in your home, you can play every PlayStation 4 game. We ask developers when they finish the PlayStation 4 product and submit a master to make sure that they have the appropriate controller mapping to work on PS Vita. All games will work – unless it is a dance game [laughs].
think people are getting ahead of themselves...in the announcement they even said "our long term goal is to make every PS4 game playable on Vita." I think it's good they put that in there because they have been burned in the past by promising things that couldn't be done.
Our deal with Sony is a limited-time exclusivity that applies to competing console platforms. Basically it is that you will see the game on the PlayStation 4 for a while before you will see it on the Wii U or the rumored next Microsoft console. (We haven’t been disclosed on Microsoft’s next console, so I don’t know anything about that platform besides the rumors that are on the internet).
This exclusivity does not prevent us from being on the PC or iOS at launch, for example.
To launch a high-spec version of the game on a console, it came down to a choice between the next Microsoft console or the next Sony console. There were people at Sony who really liked the game and were keeping in touch with us about it, and so we naturally started going to their PS4 developer events, got a dev kit, and started playing with it. I don’t have good communication with anyone at Microsoft right now, but all our technical people like the PS4 specs a lot more than the leaked Durango specs, and we like the positioning of the PS4 (it’s about games) more than what we perceive Microsoft’s positioning is going to be.
And Jonathen strikes another "Blow" (get it?) at M$. Lulz.
That guy has said everything except for "Suck on my D! (in Swarley voice)" to them in the past few years. He does not like the way they do business...at all.
They will be able to add detailed crowds, sidelines (like every player on the sideline being real. When players sub in and out, they should be going to the actual sideline instead of "swapping" with someone then becoming a 2d sprite). Pro Bowl helmets should be do-able.
Replay system should be enhanced, no longer cutting off plays. Hell, we did lose it all together this year, so that'll make a return.
Halftime/Postgame show should be good to go, with the return of replays of course.
Additional cut scenes of Phil/Jim, maybe new stuff like sideline reporters, could be added. Cut scenes of the field should be able to contain more than 10 players or so (ever notice how they are all zoomed in and the camera is at an angle to only have 8-10 people at a time? They should be able to do 30+ now)
These were all memory limitations in the past.
We're not going to see a massive graphical upgrade from CG to NG, but they will be able to do a hell of a lot more at once. What they actually do, who the fuck knows, but the capability is there and the excuses are no longer valid.
