We may have had this argument before. I don't care what age you are, waiting in line for anything is never fun, especially days at a time. Drinking and playing some old obscure racing game with friends might make things a bit more tolerable but it still can not be described as fun.

I have never waited in line for a console and I never will. Was and will always be dumb.

Sitting outside for days, drinking? Sounds like my plans every other weekend.

I strongly disagree. Me and my friends once camped out before a K-State/KU basketball game for 48 hours. Was fun as hell.

I am with Twigg. Waiting in line is never fun, even drunk and with friends. The last time I waited in line was in college, waiting for a roller coaster. We were all drunk, and my one friend barfed all over himself and had to go wherever they take way too drunk idiots at amusement parks. His girlfriend picked him up. He remembers none of it to this day.

I guess I thought it was fun at the time, but now I just see that we could have all gotten just as drunk at home and still been as happy the next day. To each their own though. I can respect the zeitgeist of the launch game/console (more so the console, but whatever).

Shit, has me wondering if I should put my preorder in right now. I wasnt anticipating getting one at launch but I also dont wanna be running around from place to place like a fiend the way I had to for the PS2 when I decided to get one.

Might as well preorder on Amazon. They don't take any money until it's shipped so you could just cancel it at any time if you don't want it.

Exactly. You could pre-order and be guaranteed your console and just drink and do whatever else in the comfort of your own home. Let's not also forget that these consoles also always seem to release in November. In a lot of parts of the country it's usually pretty cold and wet that time of year.

When the PS2 came out I guess I was 23? I remember a few of my cousins and friends were talking about camping out for it. I said fuck that noise. I think two of my cousins ended up camping out at a Best Buy for a few days. They were miserable. It rained and it was cold as fuck. I ended up betting mine a day ot two after release and didn't have pneumonia.

                    ...it's time to re-evaluate.

As a grown man whose employer blocks out more internet sites than Kim Jong Un, I've had to make some improvisations in order to waste time at work.

Wasting time on a forum =/= camping out for vidja game related stuff.

Meh. I see it as an experience that I want to do. Not like I'm gonna be out there for a week. I'll probably be there all day though. At that point I won't have shit else to do other than school work.

Not even close IMO. Is constantly chatting about games on a forum nerdy as fuck? Absolutely. But it's not on the near brain dead level of camping out for something.
