I forget who the manufacturer is, Mad Catz maybe?, but they make a tournament level controller that allows for almost every part to be interchanageable. It's like $100 so I'm not saying that MS or Sony needs to make something that crazy but giving people the option to switch where the sticks and D-pad are for instance, if you prefer the layout of a 360 controller over PS3, or vice versa, would be an amazing idea out of the box.

I don't see any functionality from a screen on a controller. Any ideas?

EDIT....it's apparently a touchpad, not an LED screen.

              Another look.

Looks like they tried adding a little thickness like the Xbox controller. Maybe now it won't feel like a Fisher Price toy in my hand.

Looks like it to me. Maybe they are considering shipping with a mic like the box.
