I know I'm not going crazy. When MS seemed hell bent on burying the Xbone with shitty announcement after shitty announcement all the xbots were being super original and calling me a fanboy. I listed all of the things that turned me off, one of which was the always plugged in Kinect, and several people responded Sony was doing the same thing.

I think it just seemed that way with how Sony showed the new PS Eye during their reveal.

How do we know it isn't? I know Sony has said they might not be able to meet demand for their initial launch with the pre-order numbers they're seeing.

And this is also with most places having around twice as many PS4's as XB1's for launch too.

Early data is 3-2 for the PS4. Unless these are just more made up rumors in these threads.

PS4 components reportedly start shipping in June

The upstream supply chain reportedly has already started shipping orders for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) in June, and volumes may reach one million units per month by September for the year-end holidays. Meanwhile, volume shipments for Microsoft's Xbox One are expected to start in the third quarter, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.

By the sound of this, it certainly seems possible that the PS4 could launch by the end of October, or at least before the XB1 does.

EDIT: A couple rumors now floating that October 29th could be the launch date.
