Was going to read the OS posts but figured they'd be biased there. Then thought I'd ask the guys here and figured they'd be biased towards hatred here. So I'm pretty much screwed when it comes to a non-biased opinion of this game.

We will have a non-biased review of NBA Live 14 sometime next week. Based on everything that I have heard from people that have played it, the game is a lot better than what people expected but it's still not on 2K's level. Definitely not worthy of the hate it has been getting from some very vocal members of the trade press.

Got my PS4 at midnight last night at Gamestop. I was a little pissed because I was the first person there at 6pm to finalize my order, and they told me I would be the first person to get the PS4 at midnight. So I show up at 11:50pm to pick it up, and I'm around 20th in line. I asked if they were lining people up in a certain order and they said nope. Fucking bastards jewed me. I had to wait a who extra five minutes! /sarcasm But seriously that kinda frustrated me.

Anyway I get home, set the bad boy up, and turn it on... just to see the dreaded pulsing blue light and no HDMI signal. Fuck. Then I realized that I had my receiver on the wrong input.


Got everything resolved. Popped in Killzone. My first thoughts -- this game is gorgeous, but I kinda feel like Shadow Fall is more of a glorified tech demo. I think the single player has sucked so far. I have a really tough time seeing where people are shooting me from, and occasionally I have no clue where I should be going. Chapter 3 was terrible in that regard. I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out what my objective was. With all of that said, the gun play is pretty fun, and from the other reviews I've read, the game gets a lot better.

Battlefield 4 is incredible so far though. The single player is alright, but the online is incredible. Having so much fun playing online.

I'm excited to see what the rest of this gen has in store for the PS4. From playing Killzone, I think any worries I had about the graphics not really impressing me are gone. While the leap graphically between the PS4 and PS3 is not as great as the leap from PS3 to PS2, it is still pretty substantial. This is even more evident considering I had just finished Killzone 3 a few hours before picking up the PS4 and the new Killzone. I'm excited.
