Killzone: Shadow Fall’s multiplayer free to PS Plus users during holidays

PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to check out Killzone: Shadow Fall’s multiplayer over the break without forking out for the full PS4 title. The multiplayer will be available at no charge during a free weekend, which will run December 28 to 31. Interestingly, downloading the trial will also mean you’ve installed the single-player, so if you decide to shell out for the game you won’t need to do any additional downloading. Game must be hurting and trying to squeak out some much needed sales. I like the marketing plan to do just that though I doubt it will be enough to make a big splash.

And for the record, Sony seems to be doing a fine job getting stock up for the holidays. The PS4 was available on Amazon for several hours yesterday and the day before. My local Costco had roughly 30 of them in stock yesterday as well.

I have no idea what the sales are but I just can't imagine it's doing poorly. It's a FPS and a launch title. The PS4 has sold about 3mil units. I'd bet that at least one out of four owners bought that game. That's probably a low estimate.

All I saw is that they sold 17,000 copies in the US 2 weeks ago. I'm sure they'd like to up those numbers.
