The most amazing thing is somehow, someway "FedEx227" was taken. I've never encountered that before, it's been available on AIM, Facebook, Skype, XBox, literally anything I've ever signed up for, ever.Comment

Games Industry Analyst Thinks 'PlayStation Now is a Joke''No publisher' will license content less than two years old, says Michael Pachter.
by Katie Williams FEBRUARY 5, 2014
Gaming industry analyst Michael Pachter has spoken out against Sony's PlayStation Now, saying that it has "no prayer" of working.
Speaking in the March 2014 issue of Game Informer, Pachter says, "PlayStation Now is a joke. There is no publisher that is going to license content that's less than two-years old because they would be concerned that they can't sell as many copies if they make it available for subscription or rental."
"This has no prayer of working. None."
Sony's head of hardware marketing, John Koller, has hit back at the criticisms, claiming that publishers are being "exceedingly bullish" about PlayStation Now's prospects. In the above video, however, we addressed the PlayStation 4's rumored future ability to emulate retro PlayStation games, and what impact it might have on PlayStation Now's success.
Playstation Now is a content-streaming service that aims to bring games to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, televisions, and mobiles devices. Beta invites for the service started to go out to select users last week.
For more on the PlayStation Now, see our hands-on impressions from CES, or our comedy video feature, How Bad Could PlayStation Now Be?
The full service is due to launch this summer in the US, with a UK release following next year.
Are you one of the lucky gamers to have been invited to the private beta? Do you think that the PlayStation Now will be as much of a failure as Pachter suggests?Comment

as far as this year, Pach has been pro Sony when he's comparing it to Nintendo and MS. Only thing I would "worry" about has been mentioned in other podcasts....will this affect the quality of games on PS+. Will they offer less (no Metro Last Light, Borderlands 2 quality of games) or will they just cycle them and consumers will no longer have the ability of "buying" and DL game any time in the future?Comment

Seems to me that Sony is just moving to Subscription based gaming model sometime in the far future. I mean that is mostly what PS+ is...you pay $50 a year and they give you a few games a month to play and a few discounts. The only issue with it is that you don't get to choose the games. If Gamefly allowed to 2 downloads a month for a $8 a month but you got to pick the games...that would be worth it, no?
I like the forward thinking though...it is something that the next console could be based on. I can eventually see the video game section at Walmart or Target turning into the PC gaming or Music section.Comment

As far as him being pro-Sony, I haven't listened to him in ages. So unless he completely changed his tune since the last time I heard anything he ever had to say I would say that couldn't be further from the truth. He seemed to bash them every opportunity, of course a lot of that was warranted. But he never seemed to bash MS and seemed to agree with every decision they were making, even the ones that enraged games with the XBOne initial announcements.Comment
