Doesn't work like Games With Gold. You don't own the game if your subscription stops.

i am assuming that free games wont stay free forever

If you "purchased" it while it was offered for free, it will alway be free for you on that account as long as you are a PS+ member, even after it's no longer offered as a PS+ free game.

I'm confused about your question, but I think I have it. Once you 'purchase' it it will forever show up as free to you with just the option to Download it, as long as you're a PS+ subscriber. If your subscription ends the game will go back to showing whatever the price is. If you decided to sign back up it will go back to free.

If you have PS4 you pretty much have PS+ now if you wanna play online etc so I look at it like I will always have access to the free games I got.

my thinking is that uncharted 3 is free on ps+ - i could essentially sign up for 1 month at 9.99 and play the game for a month which would be more than enough time to complete it

You could do that. You could also download and play whatever else is currently free. But once that month is over you won't have access to them again unless you sign up for PS+ again.

not for me. i play games on the pc unless its a console only game like the show, gta5, or in this case, UC3. i would be wasting the money if i spent it on a full membership. im sure its a great value, just not to a pc guy like me

My point is for $60 you will get plenty of free games to make it more than worth the money.
