edit: sorry, that's 24 games and online multiplayer.. that is if you have ps3 as well as ps4. Should I also bring up how many games that would be if you also owned a vita?

It's $50, not $60. You guys are confusing it with that shittier Live service that gives you older and less games.

As for Maynard, it probably wouldn't be worth it for him. He steals most of his games on PC.

But I'm pretty sure he was from the "Xbox Live is only $60/year. That's $5 per month. Who cares?" camp back I'm the day. If that was/is his mentality then you may as well just throw another $50 at Sony and have the opportunity to play those games that come with the membership. It's only a little over $4/month.

I've never paid more than $36 for live. And having paid $0 for using psn for the past 8 years, I certainly hope they improved it if they are charging for it now.

Correction. I paid $30/year and stacked three years back when PSN/Amazon/Best Buy had it on sale around Black Friday. Whoops.

in terms of the free games you get, yes i agree. but for the actual online MP experience, in terms of reliability and not being down once a week? XBL wins that by the same margin PSN wins the free games battle.

In cross console games PS4 has been much smoother compared to X1 according to many. Down once as week? Nah.... maybe at 3am

i dont want to play those game even if they are free. of the current list there is only 1 game i cant play on the pc that i would want to play and thats UC3 which i decided to buy for $10

you seem to forget that i own a ps3 and sold my 360. if i wasnt a pc gamer i would buy a ps4 over the xbone. unless i was a hardcore MP gamer, then i would buy the xbone.

Just glancing at the comments makes me think people are just used to getting features taken away and resold to them. While $50 for a year is not alot, when you get so many "rentals" of games included and multiplayer, MP should still be "free". Esp. when it's free for PS3 players but not PS4. I know it is something they are just phasing out but it's one more thing, we don't get included with the price of the game. People say games should just sell the single player and multiplayer modes seperate and this would be nice if they sold it reasonably. I think they would try to sell each mode for $45 instead of $30 each (at most).
