I should groan this because Tom Brady is a little bitch.

You should make a compilation video of him crying to the refs every play when someone so much as farts in his direction.

Because they look pretty damn close to an actual Sony marketing video. That's fucking impressive, especially considering this program has not even been available for a full day. How are you not impressed by these videos?

PS4 1.7 Firmware Update: Here Are All the Stealthy Changes and Fixes not Included in the Patch Notes

Today Sony Computer Entertainment released the new 1.7 firmware update, and published the official patch notes. Turns out, though, that the notes aren’t really complete, and the update includes several stealthy changes that Sony did not list, including some very relevant ones, like the ability to log in a second user with the same DualShock 4 controller, as discovered by NeoGAF user Guymelef and others.

        • Notifications: New notification type: From PlayStation.
        • System: You can now log in with multiple users with a single DualShock 4 controller without logging out the others.
        • System: The “What’s New” menu now has timestamps.
        • System: The log-in screen won’t be displayed anymore when reconnecting the DS4.
        • System: When a game crashes you can now choose to attach a video clip in the error report and send it to Sony.
        • System: Added option to automatically send error reports to Sony.
        • Settings – Audio: You can now force the PS4 to output 5.1 channel audio over HDMI even if it detects 7.1 channel support.
        • Settings – Video: “Deep Colur Output” added. It’s possible to set it to “off” and “automatic”.
        • Share: It’s now possible to upload multiple screenshots to Facebook at the same time.
        • Streaming: Comments/viewers notifications added when you are in a full screen streaming.
        • Streaming: You can now upload screenshots and video while broadcasting.
        • Streaming: You can now view comments without having to switch streaming modes.

In addition to the changes listed above, multiple users are reporting that the whole operating system is now faster, especially on the PSN storefront,on the trophies screen, on the “What’s New” section and during overall multitasking.

Finally, others are also mentioning that the bug that caused the “Share” button to record the wrong segment of footage has been corrected, and now it correctly records the latest fifteen minutes of gameplay.

One thing is for sure: firmware update 1.7 is definitely a very good step in the right direction for PS4. Hopefully the next one will include other popular requests like MP3 playback and online notifications from the friend list.

Sweet. I was having issues with it not actually recording the last 15 minutes of play with inFamous. Good to see that is fixed.

Because it shows the type of shit we can make on our own just using the PS4.. not needing an elgato or anything else.

Something is not right. the PS4 is not recording anything now, even when I press the share button. Screenshots work fine

Ahh i figured it out. Now you have to go to the share menu and click on upload video for the clip to save. I didn't have to do that before.

Wait a minute they added a Save clip button on the Share menu. Was that always there?

Saw this on FB. Wanted to get the thoughts from people knowledgable about all of this stuff. Is 30 FPS really that crippling for a racing game?

Saw this article over on Polygon about the HDCP feature. If you turn it off to record games, it will have to be turned back on to use any video streaming apps. Hopefully, Sony can figure out how to do this dynamically so that it is off for game capture and on for video apps like it is on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

The PlayStation 4's most recent software update includes an all or nothing toggle for High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) that enables or disables the feature for all apps on Sony's newest console — and prevents some apps from being used when it's off.

HDCP encrypted signals are designed to prevent unlicensed devices from receiving or recording audio and video signals. Removing HDCP from the PS4 will allow users to directly capture video from the console.

Released today, system software update 1.70 adds an "Enable HDCP" option in the Settings>System menu. Toggling the setting from its on to off state or vice versa brings the message seen above, which warns that all applications will be closed to enact the changes.

Video apps like Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus, Netflix and the WWE Network require HDCP to be turned on, so console users with HDCP disabled will be greeted with a message instructing them to to return to the menu and enable HDCP when launching these apps.

HDCP settings on other consoles like the Xbox and Xbox One are dynamic and automatically disabled when playing games but enabled for select apps. Retail PlayStation 3 units enable HDCP, while debug units allow it to be disabled. Users can also get around HDCP on consoles that support multiple outputs by using non-HDMI connections like component cables.
