Madden 25

Over 11 years of Madden foruming with you guys and some of you STILL fall for the hype every year. There's ways one guy who is the dreamer who actually thinks this is the year.
In case you've missed the news EA Madden has been outed for the shit level development it truly is. In 8 years of this console gen not once have they gotten it right. There's a new console gen coming this version is likely getting the usual half assed attention treatment most games get at this point.
Anyways let's be real it's been a total shit covered cockfest for almost a decade. I'll be happy with a *backup* copy that'll keep me entertained for a few games before all the glaring Ai issues make me quit again.
Again, nobody in 22T or TGT are falling for anything. We all have a hell of a lot of fun playing 100's of games year round. Everyone who's in our community here is most certainly getting their $60 worth.
What's funny to me is that most if not all sports games, are no different in this regard.
NHL is a retarded joke where physics are completely broken (ask anyone who plays it about body checking and watch the rage fly), the game AI is pathetic, most of the penalties have been removed (and will be a new feature in the future), Offline GM AI is utterly retarded...and everyone can deke the pants off the goalie using the same move that's been in the game since NHL 94.
FIFA is nothing but trick shots and speed whoring by chipping the retarded AI defenders. There's absolutely no fouls. Be A Pro is mind numbing because the AI is so simple minded and just passes the ball back and forth for half the game.
Tiger Woods is piss easy, default create a pro golfer and you'll shoot -20 without even trying.
I don't play NBA but all I've heard is the game has zero representation of defence.
Should I continue?
For whatever reason Madden takes the heat the worst, which isn't to say it's undeserving of criticism but I don't get what makes other games so special when they are equally fucking ridiculous as simulation sports in the exact same regard.
It's going to be annoying when/if you run into situations where you have a defender coming down with a legitimate momentum advantage and you see these animations play out because someone's "trucking" rating is higher.
I also think it may be frustrating to still not be able to trust what you see from defender's body positions. As evidenced earlier. The missed tackle animation played out and what should have been a clean spin move turns into this weird animation driven broken tackle
Need some perspective when viewing these things.
As for the intro's, for the love of god I want an option in the settings to skip it all. Nothing worse than waiting for all that shit to load/skip through, ADD kicks in, you turn your head for a moment then the game starts loading a CPU demo game and you have to wait all over again.Comment

Madden takes the worst of it because of how they've monopolized their particular sport.Comment

It's petty to compare an engine that peaked 10 years ago to one today but if that's what you want to do so be it. I guess that's what you have to do when a league has effectively enabled a monopoly over a legitimate market. (Thanks NFL)
I suggest that they take physics into account when they trigger these animations. Not that the game be completely physics based. You obviously need ratings to differentiate between players who are the same sizes and weight. Furthermore if you want to showcase talent you need those ratings. Some guys just have "it" if you will (whatever it may be) that makes them different from your average player despite being the same size or weight.
The issue is when these ratings take precedent over physics. As for the players on turntables, I doubt that has anything to do with the difficulty. I just have to be skeptical when ea is shouting foot planting and 10 seconds into the video I see a lb on ice skates. Last year I noticed ratings taking precedent over physics when db's would moonwalk to make plays on passes. The rating and the dice rolls states the DB will make the play and his body position and momentum are taken out of consideration. Thus, said DB does a crazy morph animation and lol walks into the path of the football. This is what I mean by making your eyes lie to you. Visually you may see things in madden but the game is so ratings driven it has no problem twisting up a DB/receiver to make a play nor temporarily making your lineman retarded so a lb can have a free path to the RB.
Everything is a dice roll in madden. The alternative is a game like back breaker. But it gets stale because there's no real way to differentiate players. 2k tried a system where everyone had equal teams in 2k8 by making all players in the game part of tiers where one could reasonably expect the physical talet of their players. Their ability concept is what made the game though. 2k's animations always triggered at the right time. Gold DBS would just cover you better in that game, not defy the laws of physics to make plays because the dice roll stated their ratings won.Comment

Ok, serious questions here since I skipped the last madden.
There still is a franchise mode right? But its called connected careers? What's been changed from franchise mode, besides the inclusion of online franchise mode?Comment
-
EA is posting part 1 of a "Connected Franchise" blog and video tomorrow, which should detail some of the improvements they made to the mode.

Tweets are flying online that suggest EA might have cancelled their reveal tonight, pushing it back to May 20 instead with a two part reveal of the 'new' mode. It's possible EA felt they couldn't reveal just part of Connected Franchise and wait a couple of weeks to reveal the rest, so they're doing it all on the same day.
