[PS3] ps3 controller wont stay charged?

anyone know of any issue with the ps3 controller not wanting to stay charged? i dont have a duel shock. i just have the original controller that i bought with my fat 40 gig back in 08/09.
i am only using the ps3 for streaming video to the the tv from my pc. i charged it to a full 3 bars and within 45 minutes all the bars were gone.

just wondering if anyone has heard of these batteries not wanting to charge and if i need to buy a new controller

Let me see if I got all this...

Your discontinued model of controller which is now five years old has stopped holding a charge?

Yeah I'd say you should probably replace it.

The old controllers DEFINITELY can't hold much of a charge (mine is going on 4 years and though not as bad as yours, there's definitely a decrease).

Until you get a new one, you should just shut it off when you're watching something and don't need it.

I can't imagine it's anything besides just being worn out. Impressive that you still have a SixAxis controller though.

I still have my original controller. I don't game as often as you guys do, but it still holds it's charge.

I still have my Six Axis controllers. I just use them for when I watch movies/shows though. Not for gaming, simply as a remote.

I have my original controller from my backwards compatible ps3 and the same thing happened. It works when its on the charger but I soon as its off its dead. Might just need to keep it on the charger if you want to use it especially if you really dont use the system much.
