I take it you haven't tried out the EA Sports Hockey League ha.

Basically it's online team play with your Be A Pro character. You play games as a club against other clubs from 2v2 to 6v6 and anything in between. It keeps track of stats, club record, has club standings and stuff like that. If you have yet to try it out, it's a blast.
