This is where I'm at, looking for suggestions from others who have recently done a build in case they know of good part that comes at a good cost:performance ratio.
Trying to keep it as close to $1000 as possible.
Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H Mobo
Thermaltake TR2 700w Power Supply
Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHZ Ivy Bridge 6MB Retail CPU
Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache HDD
Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SSD
ASUS GeForce GTX 660 OC DirectCU 1020MHZ 2GB 6.0GHZ GDDR5 2xDVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card
Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 Memory
That's got me to $960 pre tax/shipping, so pushing my limits already.
For the time being I got a standard Dell "21 WS from work that I can use with my old Aquos "37 720p TV. Will get a new TV end of year tho that should suit my needs and will be the main screen of use.
