    MLB 2k9 patch 2 details

These are a couple of the patch 2 details (still more to come)

    From the Admin on 2ksports
Hey all from the cold United Kingdom,
I wanted to give you more details about Patch 2 as they have been passed to me. The patch is almost ready for submission as the final tweaks are being made. From there, it must go through the proper approvals which puts it a minimum of two weeks out. But I did want to share JUST A FEW (read NOT ALL) of the things it will address:

    AI Agressiveness
    Home Run Totals
Fly balls in the outfield tweaked so ghastly fielding errors will be a thing of the past
1st baseman stepping off bag has been tweaked
Issues with the pitch overlay hud
Fixed pickoffs, especially to 2nd base
Roster issues as it pertains to subsituting pitchers and bench

There is more news to come, but wanted to share at least these fixes with you. Thanks!

    Ronnie

nope, because the game being half assed isnt the developers fault for having less than a year to make the game. Its the publishers/MLB's fault for not letting 2k9 work on it longer.

ok just because they spent 60 dollars on a game doesnt mean there going to give money back. If it was like that then I want EAsports to give me money back for ruining online play in Madden and having all glitches in it. VC had no time to test the game. If they had the extra 3-4 months that most sports games have then I believe some of these bugs would not of been in the game, but when you dont have all that time to develop a game, especially one that has a set release date and cannot be changed, then they have to cut some things out. With that being said you cannot get a refund for any game unless it is doesnt work period. You can release the buggiest game in the world and charge $60 for it and as long as it plays regardless of how buggy it is you will not get a refund.

I wouldn't say The Show is a GREAT game either compared to last years version. It made few steps up from the year before and one HUGE step down in online play.

How much time did SCEA have to work on it? And if they did have the same amount of time to work on it then the Show would still be ten times better. The Show has had the best baseball game since it was on the PS2. I might even pick up a PS2 so I can play a good franchise assuming it has all the same features as the PS3 version. I mean the show probably wouldnt have to update any features at all for the next couple of years and it would still be the best baseball sim.

Tell where I have defended it. I have stated many times that I am not fully happy with the game, I have stated obvious reasons as to what could associate with them not being able to test the game completely (in which I think they should of not spent so much time on other things and maybe tested it a lot more).

Why would they help that sales of a game on 360? They would practically be giving money to Microsoft because a portion of every game sold on 360 probably goes to microsoft.

That's quite obvious and very stupid of 2K to do. Hold it back a month and people will still buy it just as much. Bringing out a shitty product and then promising it will be better with a patch (which I'm sure a lot of things still won't be) is not giving them any better reputation.

What every game needs to do is put out beta copies maybe 3-4 weeks before the game is suppose to release. Maybe have the beta copy cost like $20-$30 and have it only available via the games website but only sell like a couple hundred of them if that.. Once the game officially comes out, they can send the game back and they can get a discount on the actual game. This would probably be a rather complicated way to do it I think it would also be a good idea.

Probably wont even have to pay them. I am pretty sure there would be some people who would want to play a baseball game weeks before it came out. And actually get people who know baseball to test it. Most sports game tester have little if any knowledge of the sport.
