A meh. Its at the point now where the gameplay is so stale and the little improvements are constantly making the game worse that even a crappy trailer like this makes me not care.

Pretty much. If I didn't play that short lived online league we had I probably would of rarely played it at all.

It's pretty sad that at this point 1v1 and even OTP is about defending whatever glitches are out there and if you do that well you'll generally win. Other things like the lame hitting, the terrible skating and shite passing will most likely not be addressed.

          NHL 14 Features

NHL® Collision Physics – Developed from the same core technology that powers EA SPORTS FIFA’s critically-acclaimed Player Impact Engine, NHL® Collision Physics introduces bigger, more thrilling hits, and truer-to-life collisions. A new left-stick control scheme makes delivering a game-changing hit simpler and more rewarding than ever.

Enforcer Engine – Powered by the same technology used in the critically acclaimed Fight Night franchise, NHL 14 will bring a brand new third-person presentation to showcase the anatomy of a fight. All players on the ice (human or CPU) remain live from the drop of the gloves to the trip to the penalty box, with no break in the action. This new technology delivers, for the first time in the EA SPORTS NHL franchise, true size and strength differentiation between players, new jostling mechanics and much more to create the most authentic and electrifying experience yet.

True Performance Skating – Built on the breakthrough innovation that introduced physics-based skating and over 1,000 new skating animations to the EA SPORTS NHL franchise. The second year of the True Performance Skating features improved acceleration, explosive first-strides, quicker pivots and enhanced lateral skating, resulting in greater player responsiveness and unprecedented control.

One-Touch Dekes – Experience what it feels like to be a superstar through a new, more responsive deking system controlled only with the left stick and one-button. From beginner to advanced gamers, the system allows for quicker reactive dekes and intuitive combination dekes, creating more moves than ever before.

Live the Life – The new incarnation of the Be a Pro Career Mode, now you can truly Live the Life of an NHL player. On or off the ice, every decision you make shapes your legacy as an athlete. Interact with teammates outside of the rink. Take part in media interviews. Each choice you make will affect your relationship with fans, teammates and management, influencing your skills and progression.

          HUT & EASHL Online Seasons
          – NHL 14 adds the best-in-class promotion and relegation system in the sports category to the Hockey Ultimate Team & EA SPORTS Hockey League modes. Win games and advance to the next division to face tougher competition, fall short and see your team bumped down. Teams will be able to track their progress across multiple seasons.

Physics/Skating/EASHL/HUT.....same fucking feature list every god damn year it seems.

13 was the final game for me, ending 2 decades of buying this shite.

Here's the real NHL 14 feature list

Left, Right, Left - The same fucking deke from NHL 94, is still in the game! Yes folks, come in a goalie, forehand, backhand, forehand...bury that shit. Works every time just like it always has! But now, we simplified the move because Johny 5 year old could only do it 95% of the time successfully, just press the A button and everything will happen like magic!

Skating! - Yeah the players still fucking skate, who woulda thought?

EASHL - The same useless mode where games don't fucking matter, everyone makes the playoffs and you're really not playing for shit. CPU defenders will still be god damn retards and the goalies will fall for the same moves they've always felt for. Don't you worry QC fucktards, you will have 1000pts within a week and then can unlock the purple mohawk to go along with your neon green team sweaters. We know you love the exercise in repetition every year and we're glad to give you it again!

HUT - Just give us your fucking money you dumb retards. These ratings don't even fucking do shit, we gimp everyone online to be the same, thanks for your support!

Fighting is back - OK well it was always there. We just figured you got bored with the 1st person fighting so we recycled the old 3rd person fighting from the past and are calling it new, that's how we do at EA! Enforcers will matter this time around, even though the enforcer role is dead in the NHL. REALISM!

Be A Pro Career - We made up some repetitive bullshit interviews and crap that will piss you the fuck off in between games. It will probably not do what's intended (we're not even sure TBH), but we'll just say we intended that to be the outcome so fuck you, EA rules. Don't worry, the shoddy stupid as fuck GM will have no idea what the fuck he is doing and put half your team on waivers before the first game...so you'll have all the playing time you need! Just like we intended, it's all about you!

Sadly, even I am out as well on this. I haven't picked up NHL since I won the cup back in December, and I just don't see any reason now. I don't even have my xbox with me, but at this point, I have NCAA'12, Madden'13 and NHL13. I have enough old games to last me and I'll just play those.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

                "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

They posted a video of the new fighting stuff. While it looks cool still completly skeptical they will fix the skating issues and all the other problems from last year.

Id post the video but im lazy and on my phone.

I saw it, it's alright I guess. Fighting wasn't even on my radar for things I wanted fixed with this turdburger.

Goalies suck. Skating sucks. Hitting sucks. Penalties are broken.

And this will be the year my NHL playing comes to an end. See no real reason to get this, or even get my xbox fixed to get this. They really need something new with it, and I think more time on the online franchise will be the only way to get me back. I actually enjoyed the OF we had, but numbers were down, so that made it hard.
