tell me about rock band 2

i am watching this vh1 show about pearl jam 10 CD and how all the songs will be available on RB2 on the 24th. So i start looking at RB and see they have over 600 songs for this game? WTF? thats alot of songs.

How much of this is DLC? i assume i would buy the game and then have to buy a shitload of DLC for the game....right?

Can i use my GH 3 guitar (the black les paul guitar) for RB2?

    any other info is appreciated....thanks!

Rock band2 alone consists of 84 songs.
Rock band1 consists of 45 songs.

Pay $5-$10 worth of Microsoft points and you can combine them into Rock band 2. Giving you 129 songs. Now add the 20 free songs for registering your email and the 3-4 songs that are free and promotional songs.

so you are around 155 songs.

Now subtract 155 from 600 and you get how many songs are DLC.

Full list of every DLC song for the game here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downloa...t_in_Rock_Band

You can find a full list of the non-DLC songs that are in RB2 on Wiki as well.

DLC ranges from 80 to 160 points per single song (most everything you'd actually want is 160, the 80 point songs are mostly indie and crap) and can be bought song by song, doesn't force you to buy the pack like GH3. Full albums are 1200-1600 points (cheaper than buying the songs one by one) and the other track packs depending on size are 400-800 (also cheaper than buying them one by one). I think some of the smaller albums (like Megadeth) are 800 too.

I've been looking forward to being able to download Pearl Jam's Ten. One of my favorite CDs, from start to finish, of all time.

Maynard, you're a little late to the party, huh? Some of us have been talking about Rock Band for a couple years now.

DLC for this game is unmatched by any other. Weekly releases. Several albums. Lots to choose from. Zero Tool, though.

I love Rock Band but they are really starting to piss me off with some of their band omissions. It's pretty sad when a crap game like Rock Revolution has songs by Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Korn, Killswitch Engage, Linkin Park and Papa Roach but RB doesn't? And don't even get me started on the lack of 3 Doors Down.

Rock Band does have Papa Roach and Linkin Park. Papa Roach just came out with two songs this past week.

I thought the songs in Rock Revolution were covers and not master recordings?

RB has LP? I slept on that. I knew RB had one downloadable PR song that I have but I wasn't aware that they release two more, Thanks for the heads up.

And yeah, almost every song is a cover but most of them are pretty good. I think the LP song is one of the few originals.

Rock Band 2 has "One Step Closer" by Linkin Park included on the disc. "Last Resort" and "Lifeline" from Papa Roach were released this week for download. I also saw a song by Killswitch Engage that was released as DLC a long time ago.

Rock Revolution also has 3 Pantera songs for DLC, a band which neither RB nor GH has had since GH1. That pisses me off. I would kill for some Pantera.

I've become pretty damn good at drums, regularly getting 5 star on hard for most songs

Maybe I read wrong but I thought I saw in this weeks Best Buy ad that they are selling thise 10 'Special Edition' for like $27?!? It only features THREE Rock Band downloads. If you could maybe download the whole album on RB it might be worth it. Are they fucking insane?

i think you misread it twig

that says only 17.99 and i've bought like 3 full albums and never paid more than 19.99

*edit* and I will probably pick this one up as "Alive" is fucking fun as hell to play on drums and I can only imagine the rest of it is as well. i loved dave krusen's drumming back then and still do today!

You misunderstood me. I meant that when you buy the actual re-release of the cd you get three RB downloads but the fucking cd costs $28, What a joke. I guess because it comes with a DVD.

You can even check the link you posted. Down in the lower left it lists Amazon's price for the cd.
