    [ALL] Is Gamefaqs maturing?

I just found this interesting. Gamefaqs has always seem to have the reputation of being home to only Middle School aged kids. But I've noticed that the past year or so that hasn't been the case. I see mostly intelligent responses and decent game conversations.

For those that aren't familiar with the site, they have a poll on the main page that is different each day. Usually the are of the "Which next gen console are you most looking forward to?" or "Who had the best E3 press conference?" Today I happened to notice it was a simple one asking your age. Now, of course people could lie but I thought the results were interesting:

    How old are you?

    Vote Accepted

    Under 9 0.88% 438
    9-12 0.42% 208
    13-16 5.1% 2549
    17-20 18.95% 9474
    21-24 29.88% 14936
    25-28 23.95% 11971
    29-32 11.91% 5953
    33-36 5.02% 2508
    37-40 1.85% 927
    Over 40 2.05% 1026
    TOTAL VOTES 49990

21-24 year old are #1 with 25-28 year olds not far behind. Of course my age group seems to only represent a small percentage still.

its called growing up. but in all seriousness when I was younger gamefaqs was THE best website for info. now it is all over the place so the people who go back probably were teens back in it's glory days and now are adults.

I didn't think they made games anymore that were challenging and thoughtful enough to require a FAQ. I remember when games like FFX where you needed to look at FAQs to get everything in the game.

Pretty much only use that site to get fatality lists for the newest MK game... otherwise I don't see the point.. They also have achievement lists so I would imagine that's what Twigg uses it for..

Yeah, or when you had WWF No Mercy and people put their created wrestlers on there. Now for the new WWE games, you can just download them in-game.

I guess it's matured because of the crowd that sits there, but it's also no longer the only place to go. A quick Google search will get you walk-through videos for just about any scenario.
