    [ALL] Fuse

    A new IP....YEAH!!

Looks like a Twigg and Dizzle Coop Special.

    THE VERDICT

This is a loud, chaotic, and fun bit of extraordinary violence in an otherwise lighthearted world, but it rarely achieves the greatness it strives for. If you can overlook the tonal inconsistencies, Fuse’s shallow, familiar shooting can thrive. Success comes when the unacceptable teammate A.I. is replaced by a group of friends unleashing the awesome power of their alien-powered weaponry. Fuse is an all-or-nothing experience, though. Bring a full crew or don’t waste your time

    Giant Bomb Last Paragraph

Fuse's gameplay has some good ideas, but they don't carry enough weight in what's otherwise a shooter campaign the like of which you've almost certainly seen before. And it's hard not to think back to the exciting first trailer from two years ago, since many of the shipping game's most outlandish aspects would have been more at home in that highly stylized, wisecracking version that never got made. Fighting in an undersea base and a space station? An exotic Asian assassin who turns out to be someone's ex-girlfriend? A sneering Russian who shoots himself up with Fuse and grows 10 stories tall? It feels like the off-the-wall good ideas Insomniac had for that sillier game have survived, but those ideas are a bit uncomfortably at odds with the serious look and tone of the game as it is now. Fuse plays pretty well, but with smoother execution and a more cohesive identity, it would have an easier time standing out in a genre that, as this generation of consoles comes to a close, is wearing out its welcome more and more.

From what I'm hearing, it's not a bad game by ANY means.

The problems stem from being stuck playing with NPCs that while useful, can't match the experience this game was built for... 4 player co-op.

And because of that, the experience of seeing the crazy stuff (which incidentally doesn't pop up as often as you'd think and we fought two MECHS in the demo) only means something if you can share it with other people.

Otherwise, add this one to the pile of shooters that were made with a ton of promise but were hamstrung in such a way that it'll be forgotten/picked up on sale later on.

Note: I'm still getting it because I dig the concept and feel Insomniac deserves the money.

I just don't think it'll break the sound barrier via sales numbers.

It's not, at least based on the demo. It does seem like it would be infinitely better with three actual people though.

I'd be willing to grab it when it hits $20 if anyone wants to play on either 360 or PS3.
