[ALL] Top 5 Favorite Game Music This Gen

So, I was bored on my office day, and was chatting with a friend about how good video game music this generation has been. I whipped up what I consider to be my top 5 favorite (at least for now), and was curious what some of yours were. Obviously can be anything from a phone game to a download-only to a proper disc game. No need for specific tracks unless you feel so compelled (it sometimes would be nice for recommendations...I sometimes listen to video game music when I work).

Anyway, here is mine, in no particular order:

Super Meat Boy - I am an admitted fanboy of this game, through and through, and the music is yet another part of it that I just absolutely love. The Dark World themes are all great, but specifically the music from Hell is just fantastic. All of the 8 bit music parts are awesome.

Viva Pinata - I was listening to one of the more recent Bombcasts and Brad was talking about his love of this games music, and he perfectly described it as having a "Peter and the Wolf" vibe. It's just the right combination of whimsical, cute and occasionally sinister all at once. Blends perfectly with the more relaxed gameplay.

Fez - I seem to recall this soundtrack getting some serious love around award time last year, so it should really come as no surprise. The songs "Majesty" and "Adventure" are two that particularly stand out for me.

FTL - Top to bottom, catchy as hell. My girlfriend even likes this, and starts humming the bars for days after any time she hears me play it. I particularly like the song "Civil".

Mass Effect 2 - I was surprised when I came up with this list that this was the only AAA title to make it for me. It's awesome, and fits the cinematic style of ME great. "Suicide Mission" is amazing. To be fair, the whole series could probably get one slot (and deservedly).

    Honorable Mentions:

iloMilo - specifically the ridiculously charming song "Sunny Days"

Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien

    The Binding of Isaac

Uncharted 2 (could basically be the whole series though)

    Metal Gear Solid 4

    Sound Shapes

I'm going to stop here, as I already feel like I've listed too many honorable mentions. Hopefully this thread doesn't die quickly and we get some good recommendations.

Mass Effect 3 An End Once and For All is by far my favorite song in a video game soundtrack.

Super Meat Boy I Will also go with this game. The hard rock vibe fits the ever mounting frustration of playing this game.

Elder Scrolls Skyrim The music that i can't ever fucking understand fits the tone and mood of the game.

Max Payne 3 The intensity of this soundtrack is by far one of the best parts of this game.

Halo 3 Hard to believe this game was released this generation but damn was it a mood setter.

Man, I still haven't even played Max Payne 3.

I love "An End Once and For All". It's basically between that and "Suicide Run" for me.

And I can't believe that I forgot Hotline Miami!

All great choices for original music.

As far as soundtracks I think Burnout Revenge and Forza Horizon are two of my favorites.

You sure? Because with lyrics like these, how can you go wrong?

Hey hey, you you, I don't like your girlfriend No way, no way, I think you need a new one Hey hey, you you, I could be your girlfriend.

Fuck that song...it will forever be etched onto my brain from Paradise.

I know I would have bought that game day one at launch if it was out.....thats why me confused.

I am honestly more amazed you guys remember these video game sound tracks. I cant remember shit about the music in games.

Certain ones stick with me. Always original scores more so than proper soundtracks. That and it helps that a lot of these games now come with the soundtrack on Steam, so that leads to more listening.

Ones like Super Meat Boy I got to know through sheer repetition. FEZ had me from the word go. FTL has a similar repetition thing. All of that combined with music in games being important to me...songs stick. It only becomes REALLY nerdy when you know the names of the tracks...

The two that have really stuck with me (or at least come to mind atm) are:

                          Uncharted 2

                          Max Payne 3
