I dont trust EA, period. Why hold out hope for some shit that has failed you time and time again when you have a proven winner in front of you? Roll with 2K and just wait and see what Live does but holding out hope is gonna do nothing but piss you off. I get that time and time again with Madden but I have no other option, wish there was a 2K football

Game feels just about the same as last year, there is some better spacing, player movement is a little more deliberate, but for the most part you'd think you were playing '13 for the most part.

The game recognized my controller settings from last year, so I didn't have to switch to classic, it was already set. I don't remember if the game had done that in the past.

That's a nice touch. I'm also pretty upset that Warner has played this game before I did. Depressing almost.

I almost bought it Thursday, but decided not to spend $60 on a service pack ... the same way I didn't spend $60 on Fifa 14 or NHL 14. First time, possibly ever, I held off. Thank you, GTA5. Of course if Trevor becomes a playable character in any of those games, goodbye $60.

It plays much better out of the box than it ever has. All i've done is switch to "simulation", change nothing else, and both of my games have had just about the right amount of total shots, decent FG% on both sides, and total rebounds, blocks, steals in the ballpark of where they should be. One gae had a serious lack of offensive boards, but the second game had too many, so there is some variance that may or may not balance out long term.

I may not wait for the OS nerds to tweak shit this year, because it's playing really well as is.

So into GTA5, I honestly could care about last gasp current gen sports games. Yeah, I bought Madden 25, but that's it. Since buying GTA5, I put Madden 25 in once just to play something else ... then wished Madden was a mini-game in GTA5. I agree with you about OS nerds. Those guys get way too nuts about games.

People are going to skip this game for obvious reasons, but they shouldn't. The more I play it, the more it becomes obvious that this is the best basketball game ever made.

First thing you will notice, is you can block shots now. No, really. The coolest thing to do in the game is swatting a breakaway layup from behind. The added a bunch of new block animations, and the game finally has the right amount of balance when it comes to the overall number of blocks.

                        Floor spacing is improved.

Overall lane play got a makeover. Use a slasher like Iguodala or Kidd-Gilchrist and they will fight through contact and draw fouls instead of getting caught in those animations that always resulted in turnovers or ugly shots that made you scared of driving into traffic. I always found these type of players pretty useless in the game except as finishers on breakaways or with a clear path to the basket. Now, there is a real "toughness" involved that I can't really describe but is obvious when you play.

Offensive rebounds are realistic right out of the box for the first time ever.

You are rewarded for good defense with less of those frustrating money jumpers as the shot clock expires, but you will be punished if you freelance too much on defense and leave guys alone.

When you first fire up the game, it feels like a 2k13 roster update, but the more you play the more you will notice these subtle but important changes. I thought 12 with good sliders was as good as it gets, but this tops it right out of the box.

I'm just going to wait the month after release (or maybe Black Friday) and pick it up on sale. I just got Madden for $40 and it seems O.K. for that price point....I couldn't see spending $60 on it (some wouldn't even spend $40).

I'm too deep into GTA but after Warner's endorsement I'm going to need to dust this off and start playing.
