Holding out for the PS4 next month to get this and FIFA. I haven't even researched it, but do they have that $10 upgrade of you buy it for PS3? I may reconsider buying it now if they do.

I ended up buying this to get off GTA every so often. Very solid game, really hard to dunk this year. Played four games vs. CPU and lost them all. Gotta get more disciplined about getting into the paint and not launching 3s all the time.

I'm tempted to get it now....but much like you I want to try and fight the urge and just wait for the XBOX One version of both basketball games.

First thing you will notice, is you can block shots now. No, really. The coolest thing to do in the game is swatting a breakaway layup from behind. The added a bunch of new block animations, and the game finally has the right amount of balance when it comes to the overall number of blocks.

              Floor spacing is improved.

Overall lane play got a makeover. Use a slasher like Iguodala or Kidd-Gilchrist and they will fight through contact and draw fouls instead of getting caught in those animations that always resulted in turnovers or ugly shots that made you scared of driving into traffic. I always found these type of players pretty useless in the game except as finishers on breakaways or with a clear path to the basket. Now, there is a real "toughness" involved that I can't really describe but is obvious when you play.

Offensive rebounds are realistic right out of the box for the first time ever.

You are rewarded for good defense with less of those frustrating money jumpers as the shot clock expires, but you will be punished if you freelance too much on defense and leave guys alone.

When you first fire up the game, it feels like a 2k13 roster update, but the more you play the more you will notice these subtle but important changes. I thought 12 with good sliders was as good as it gets, but this tops it right out of the box.
Just wanted to echo this. I fired up an exhibition fresh out of the box last night (bumped quarter length to 8 and difficulty to whatever the setting one above default is) and had a tremendous time. Lost 75-72 at the buzzer because I hit the wrong button and couldn't get a 3 off in time. The rest of the game was a ton of fun.

Need to work harder at getting easy points inside, but I like the #balance and #feel this game presents when playing the CPU. I am not sure how much online play I'll get out of it, guess that depends on the health of the TEAM UP and league community, but I'm fairly confident I'll get plenty of mileage out of this bad boy in Association mode at the least.

I don't like online just because the game plays very differently only. The frame drops and lag online is hard to get use to if you play offline, essentially you have to chose one or the other in my experience.
