Considering that its being developed by the people that gave us Battlefield (DICE), and it's using the Frostbite 3 Engine, there is a pretty good reason everyone is ing uncontrollably.

As soon as I saw the familiar scenery of Hoth and heard those blasters, I was ready for them to take my money.

It's the last "good" game from Lucasarts, and they abandoned the third one for whatever reason. The fact that DICE is doing this game makes it that much better.

As long as the vehicle battles aren't as clunky as they were in BF I and II, I'll be happy. Actually, thats the only thing they really need to improve from the previous.

I saw on Reddit that the DICE team creating the new Battlefront won't be the Battlefield DICE. No, it will be the recently re-branded DICE Los Angeles, the team that just released the new Medal of Honor games. Not saying those games were bad, but they aren't anywhere near the quality of the Battlefield series.

Honest question: why is this announcement so exciting? Were the Battlefront games that well-received by the gaming community? I just don't remember seeing gaming communities raving about the Battlefront games back in the day. My only memory of Battlefront was my SOCOM II clan rolling together on Battlefront for a few weeks, but we all eventually went back to SOCOM.
