    [WiiU] Super Mario 3D World

E3 2013: Super Mario 3D World Revealed for Wii U

Nintendo's 3D Mario for Wii U now has a name: Super Mario 3D World. During its pre-E3 2013 Nintendo Direct, the publisher highlighted EAD Tokyo's next project, which draws heavy inspiration and design elements from its last game - Super Mario 3D Land for Nintendo 3DS. 3D World is due out in December 2013.

3D World will also support four players simultaneously, as Toad, Luigi, and Princess Peach will join Mario on his adventure. What's key here is that all four characters have unique traits, just as they did back in Super Mario Bros. 2. Peach can once again briefly float in mid-air, Toad is slightly faster with a slightly different weight, and Luigi once again has a longer, higher jump.

As part of the game's debut trailer, Nintendo also revealed a new costume for Mario and his allies: the Cat Suit. By obtaining a gold bell, Mario will transform into a cat and gain the ability to pounce on enemies or scale walls and poles. New footage also revealed the presence of what appear to be Kuribo's Skate (not Shoes!) and an orange Yoshi that takes the form of a raft.

I wanted a Super Mario Galaxy 3, but this is a good replacement in the meantime if Nintendo ever decides to bring SMG back.

Cat Mario looks pretty rad, and genuinely cute and not creepy like most modern Mario shit not named Galaxy.

I still doubt that I get a Wii U just for this, despite how amazing Super Mario World was and how great Super Mario 3D Land was. Literally the only other two games on it that interest me are Earthbound, which is an old SNES game, and The Wonderful 101.

yeah the 3DS is enough for me to get a Mario fix every now and then.

The last Nintendo console I bought was the Gamecube solely for RE4. Bought it played it...sold the whole thing on ebay the day after I was finished.

I got talked into a Wii by the girlfriend

It collected dust for a year before I sold it on CL.

only thing i use my Wii for is virtual console games. dont see myself buying a WiiU anytime soon. the new mario looks awesome but there's really nothing else coming out for it in the foreseeable future. new zelda, donkey kong, mario kart = 2014.

And the new Zelda I'm most excited for is only coming to 3DS.

I do miss the VC aspect of the Wii. I have a bunch of the games in cart form, but man if it isn't a massive pain in the ass trying to get Castlevania 3 to work.
